Distilled In-World Knowledge

Discoveries & Intelligence

  • Vallium heard from a recently arrived adventurer that they have discovered a fortified roadhouse within the ruins. It has beds and meals and you can sometimes sell treasure there. It’s run by an Archontean man named Kettle-Belly who is a good man. The keys are copyable for $10 each. [town-rolls | 2025-12-22]

  • Research revealed Kel Bormol was the Overseer of Thoth at the time of Arden Vul’s collapse (~1200 years ago). His titles included Archmage of Thoth and Eye of Thoth. No information was found about his parents. [town-rolls | 2025-12-23]

  • Pieces of broken magic items found in Kel Bormol’s room do not fit together with broken magic items from Tikun Thane’s workshop. [archive | 2025-12-23]

  • Fael documented Large Mushrooms of Northern Inthuin (Gosterwick Nature Foundation):

    • Aqua Vitae: Brown stem about 4’ tall, large heavy white caps 5”-8” in diameter. Juicy and delicious. One mushroom will feed and hydrate a person for a whole day. If you sautee the cap to release the liquid, it can be used as a minor healing potion, with a shelf life of 2 weeks.
    • Blue Trumpet: 14’ tall, 2’ diameter cup-shaped blue caps. Edible and nutritious but taste like bitter tree bark. One stalk will feed a person for 3 days. The caps are likely to hold several gallons of water.
    • Cloud Cap: 9’ tall, 2’ diameter white and blue mottled caps. Tasty. One mushroom will feed a person for three days. Can be cooked to provide about 6 minor healing potions, with a shelf life of a few weeks.
    • Eye-Opener (CAUTION): 9’ tall, 5’ diameter light blue caps with yellow spots. Non-nutritious. If eaten, they enhance senses but reduce judgment, for several hours.
    • Mind-Eater (DO NOT EAT): 1’ tall with 2” pale yellow caps with a red dot in the center. They appear nutritious, but contain a toxin that will drive eaters insane.
    • Orange Lamps: 10’ tall, 3’ diameter orange caps, glow from phosphorescence. Edible, one mushroom will feed a person for about 2 days. They also provide a good emergency light source; they will keep glowing for a few hours after picking.
    • Red Veil (DO NOT EAT): 3’ tall yellow stem, 1’ diameter blood red cap. Eating these causes temporary violent madness.
    • Slow Stepper (CAUTION): 2’ tall, 6” corpse-white caps with black flecks. If crushed or damaged they emit spores which slow anyone within about a 10’ radius for a few minutes. If eaten the slowness will last for hours.
    • White Bulbs (DO NOT EAT): 11’ tall, 2’ diameter off-white caps. These are fatally poisonous.
    • White Ribs (CAUTION): 15’ tall, 4’ diameter off-white caps. These are large, fast-growing, nutritious and tasty. One mushroom will feed a person for about 3 days. The only problem is that they look fairly similar to poisonous White Bulbs, so should only be eaten if you can tell the difference. [archive | 2025-12-23; pc-notes | 2025-12-23]
  • Blue Haze, Green Friend, and Red Lotus are not mushrooms. Fael referred to Green Friend as “Green Invasive Algae That Doesn’t Belong Here” and refused to add it to her guide. [archive | 2025-12-23]

  • The Green Friend sample is distinct from the green glowing cave lichen gathered during the May 30th Session; it does not glow. [archive | 2025-12-23]

  • Fael has never heard of the Red Lotus flower but expressed interest in seeing a small cutting, provided the flower is not destroyed. [town-rolls | 2025-12-23]

Ongoing Projects & Logistics

  • Vael ordered Fine Ornate +3 Spider Silk Robes (MSRP 6,750 in raw materials). Tasha accepted the spider silk and began working on the robes. As of the week end, the robes remain under construction as Tasha is still learning to work with the material. [archive | 2025-12-22; archive | 2025-12-27]

  • The watcher statue does not send notifications when detecting movement; Vael must periodically look through its eyes and ensure it has a light source. [archive | 2025-12-22]

  • Basil was impressed by Vael’s Shape Earth and requested a vertical hole for a privy (he would add seat and curtain). Basil appears to be a city kid unfamiliar with outhouse construction. He also committed to acquiring extra buckets for the Beacon in case anyone becomes stuck there for extended periods. [town-rolls | 2025-12-22]

  • Bricks that Basil leaves in a pile at the Beacon disappear. [town-rolls | 2025-12-22]

NPC Activity

  • Wicktrimmer was not present at the Rarities Factor; his assistant accepted a note. [town-rolls | 2025-12-22]
