Lasselanta “Chrysalis” Ashcroft
Summary
Lasselanta “Chrysalis” Ashcroft is a Half-Elven mercenary martial artist affiliated with the Grudge Brigade. She was hired (along with Thronebreaker) by the Right for Riches company for the battle against Neferet in Sessions 42a–42b. She has a monkey familiar named Mariposa.
Known Abilities
- Blind Fighting — can fight effectively while blinded; Neferet’s blinding spells were only a minor inconvenience to her.
- Uses a Staff of Blue Light — carries permanent light that was not extinguished by the dispel corridor (unlike other light sources).
- Relentless melee combatant; kept pursuing Neferet even while blinded and low on resources.
Actions in Sessions 42a–42b
Session 42a — Neferet (Part 1)
- Blessed by Ioannes before entering.
- Went first into the narrow dispel hallway (Bless was dispelled, but the Staff’s light was not).
- Scouted the tomb chamber and reported the layout back to the party.
- Was blinded by one of Neferet’s spells during the battle, but continued fighting with Blind Fighting.
- Continued pursuing Neferet relentlessly through the room despite blindness.
- Trapped in a Bead of Force sphere by Neferet; later freed by Vael’s Blink Other.
- Damaged by a second Bead of Force thrown at her; treated by Ioannes with Stop Bleeding.
Session 42b — Neferet and the Wraiths
- Freed from the force sphere early by Vael’s Blink Other; immediately resumed pursuit of Neferet.
- Forced Neferet to abandon her charging Explosive Fireball to Blink away.
- Steadily burned Neferet’s mana reserves through relentless pursuit.
- Was hit by a critical success Command spell from Neferet commanding her to flee — fled until Ioannes cast Bravery on her.
- Spotted Neferet moving the spider webs in the Great Hall while invisible and gave chase.
- Tried to push the last Bead of Force after Neferet through the web-filled hallway.
- In the Tower of Scrutiny, fought wraiths with her staff enchanted with Affect Spirits by Ioannes — killed several wraiths.
- Was badly wounded by wraith ranged attacks; this contributed to the party’s retreat.
Companion: Mariposa
Mariposa is Chrysalis’s monkey familiar. A gargoyle in the Great Hall swooped at Mariposa, but she dodged the attack. Mariposa was trapped in the Bead of Force sphere in Session 42a alongside Thronebreaker and Uvash.
