Summary

Akla-Chah is a Rudishva hologram/AI therapist residing in the Beacon. She provides questioning, training, and occasional language practice; speaks Archontean with a curious inflection. She is knowledgeable about Rudishva customs, including their funeral rites.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Rudishva Funeral Rites: Akla-Chah can describe various Rudishva funeral traditions:
  • Full Recycling: Considered the best method, but the Beacon currently lacks the ability to perform it.
  • Spacing: The second-best method, also currently impractical at the Beacon.
  • Cremation: The third-best option, feasible if a suitably hot fire can be built outside the Beacon.
• Language Training: Can provide language training to the party as a downtime activity.
• Therapeutic Abilities: Good at asking questions and functions as a therapist or psychologist.

Notes

• In Session 33 - Nyema.md, Stamelis was brought to the Beacon to keep her company.
• In Session 40, Vael plugged in the Command Tablet (Tablet of the Beacon) on the bridge. Akla-Chah immediately addressed him as “Captain Vael” and asked for orders. She confirmed the tablet was genuine and that its holder would command the Beacon. Vael set Ioannes, Vallium, and Uvash as officers and Basil of Narsileon as crew. She confirmed she could translate for the bridge computer, and suggested the computer would learn Archontean on its own if spoken to for a while.
• In Session 41 - Theft and Counter-Theft, the party successfully contacted Akla-Chah from Gosterwick via communication bracelet, confirming practical remote contact range. She also identified the air circulation fans found in the Rudishva section southwest of the Beacon garden as exactly that — fans for air circulation. She confirmed that the table of NutriVore food machines and the heating/incubation unit (containing baby Varuda skeletons) could be controlled remotely via bracelet. She noted both the Captain’s and First Officer’s Command Bracelets were red, but was unsure about others.
• In Session 45, Vael called Akla-Chah on the Command Bracelet to translate the Rudishva glyphs on the pool of green liquid’s buttons in the Rudishva command chamber.
• In Session 46, Akla-Chah confirmed that not all Beacon crew members were accounted for and that it was possible some were still alive, though the Beacon crashed a very long time ago. Ioannes went through the crew roster with her and tentatively identified the Arena Lord as Entertainment Officer Crellik-Var.
