Unfinished Plotlines and Open Tasks

This document tracks unpulled threads, unresolved mysteries, and outstanding tasks identified in session recaps and inter-session Discord summaries. Items are listed under the session where they first appear. Completed items are moved to the Completed section at the bottom.

Session 1 — First Visit to the Ruins of Arden Vul

Demmasday 14th Toternios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-03-22

Open Threads

  • Tower of Scrutiny bronze double doors — The large square tower’s bronze doors are magical and locked with keyholes. The party decided not to risk traps on the first visit. Not yet explored through Session 5.
  • Tower of Scrutiny staircase into magical darkness — Stairs inside the tower descend into a sharp-cutoff magical darkness zone. Uvash suspects it might conceal a mana-zero zone to kill Levitating PCs. Not descended through Session 5.
  • Scroll from Tower of Scrutiny — A letter from Archon Uriel Basileon of Arden Vul to Thothian High Priest Kel Bormol, written during the fall of Arden Vul 1200 years ago. Contents only partially understood; not acted upon through Session 5.
  • Obelisk Beacon recess — The surface obelisk has an ankh-shaped recess and writing about a Beacon; the top section features solar iconography. Significance unknown.
  • Colossal statue of Arden — Detected as magical (unlike the statue of Vul, which is not). No further investigation attempted.
  • Magic boots (red leather) — Found on dead dwarf in spider-web room off the Long Stair. Not yet identified.
  • Magic blue powder — Found with dead dwarf, same room. Not yet identified.

Pre-Session Discord Rumors (W10, before Session 1)

  • Missing priestess Lillian — Priests of Mitra are offering a reward posted in Newmarket. A shepherd saw her taken by “walking pigs” up the cliff into Arden Vul. (Vael asked the Children of Deino about her in Session 3; they denied holding her. Still missing as of Session 5.)
  • Massive road for large creatures — Rumored to run a mile through the caverns and lead to the goblin king and the troll thegn. Not yet found through Session 5.
  • Orange mineral in caverns — Said to have many arcane uses; the city was allegedly abandoned when the mines ran dry. No direct investigation yet.

Session 2 — Halfling Rent-Seekers

Demmasday 21st Toternios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-03-29

Open Threads

  • Phlebotomas Plumthorn — The halfling boss who controls the level below the Pyramid of Thoth and charges “Adventuring Licenses.” Never met directly. Roskelly reported to him; otherwise his strength, location, and deeper agenda are unknown.
  • Locked bronze doors (northeast of halfling room) — Identified as locked and very heavy-looking; the party passed them by. Location noted but not opened through Session 5.
  • Pit/chute behind book-statue — The seated Thoth statue with the book opens pits and a sloping chute to the east when its arms are manipulated. The chute descends past light range into unknown territory. Not explored.
  • Green mist hallway / Magic Mouth (unknown language) — A persistent greenish-gray mist and a recurring illusory mouth that speaks in an unrecognized language. The word “Thoth” was heard. Language unidentified; message unknown.
  • Triangular indoor pyramid — Visited but not yet fully explored; contains a teleporter (activated in Session 3).
  • What clicked to the east — When Vael pointed the book-statue’s left arm forward, a click was heard to the east toward halfling territory. What mechanism it activated was never found.

Inter-Session Discord (W11, same week as Session 2)

  • Troll hunting missing companion Bedara — A friendly troll at “the lift” near the troll market was looking for its fellow hunter, Bedara. It implied friendliness toward anyone who could find him. Not yet pursued.
  • Gog the goblin — Exiled goblin living in a grotto near the Arena. Barters information for meat (especially beastman meat). Claims he was betrayed by a goblin named Mook. Not yet visited.
  • Cursed torch — Recovered from the giant rat nest. Decided to keep it rather than sell, as light seems important to Thoth and it may have unexpected uses. Held by the party; no use found yet.

Session 3 — Dragons and Baboons and Beastmen, Oh My!

Demmasday 28th Toternios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-04-05

Open Threads

  • Craastonistorex tribute obligation — The green dragon demanded tribute be left at the dam regularly. Tribute jewelry was finally left in Session 5. This is an ongoing relationship/obligation.
  • Craastonistorex’s tower to the southwest — The dragon warned to stay away from his tower due to territorial wyverns. Vael’s Seek Earth pointed gold and silver in that direction. Hoard to be claimed eventually.
  • Mysterious man with baboons torturing a dwarf — Observed in a large room containing a glass-red throne; the man was interrogating a dwarf prisoner about how he found an entrance, with albino baboons and two huge four-armed baboons cheering. The group retreated without engaging. Who is he? What is the glass throne?
  • Dwarf prisoner — Presumably still captive (or dead). The party deliberately left him to his fate. Open moral/plot hook.
  • Four-armed albino baboons — Two huge ones guarding the baboon area. A major threat blocking this region.
  • Secret stairs behind baboon fresco — Found a secret door behind a baboon fresco, leading to stairs going down. Not descended.
  • Marble arm of broken statue (near dry fountain) — Detected as magical by Vael; probably part of a large female statue. Too heavy to carry. Location noted.
  • Krakteros family tomb robbed — Broke open a tomb sealed with the Krakteros sigil (tower with light in one window), looted the skeleton guardian, and took a jade necklace and three black pearls. The Krakteros are one of the five great families of the Archontean Empire; possible consequences for grave-robbing their ancestor not yet materialized.
  • Children of Deino relationship established — Trapped the party and released them. Agreed to let the party pass through their territory if they announce themselves loudly first (no sneaking). Ongoing faction relationship.
  • Message in blood: “They are deterred by light. We should restore the well!” — Found in the room after the teleporter. Who wrote it? What are “they”? Suggests the Well of Light’s mirror matters to someone.

Inter-Session Discord (W12, same week as Session 3)

  • Singing carved heads on the eighth level — Giant carved heads that sing; correct tune reveals a treasure vault, wrong tune kills everyone present. Far-future exploration target.
  • Cult of Set and the “Guild of Service” — The ancient Set cult ran its own slave trade. Relevant for understanding Set cult encounters.

Session 4 — Cheese and Crackers and Thoth and Demons

Demmasday 5th Lucrios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-04-12

Open Threads

  • Selket bust / black gate — A small room off the Pit of Bones contains a magical void of darkness (a black gate) through which small ball-shaped biting demons emerge. A magical bust of Selket acts as a teleporter when touched. The gate is still active; demons could continue to come through.
  • Great Chasm — A massive chasm, wider and taller than their light could reach. A room exists on the far side. Vael flew up ~30 yards without reaching the top or seeing daylight. The far side room not entered. A huge ball-shaped demon was seen by Ioannes from a stone chair at the chasm edge.
  • Huge ball-shaped demon — Seen by Ioannes from the chair at the chasm’s edge. The demon’s nature and connection to the smaller ones is unknown. The vision caused a Remove Curse-level panic.
  • Great Hall — Large room with scorch marks indicating magical battle, knocked-down columns, and ibis-headed gargoyles in the rafters. Only passed through; not explored.
  • Ibis-headed gargoyles — Two killed in the Great Hall. More likely remain. A significant ongoing hazard in beastman/Great Hall territory.
  • One-way door hallway of corpses — A hallway used as an inadvertent death trap (one-way stone door, too strong to smash). The party looted existing victims but the passage itself is a hazard to note and avoid.
  • Thoth chapel onyx pillar — Grabbing the pillar and loudly invoking Thoth while asking a question gets an answer — and an electric shock. Ioannes received a Major Wound from the shock. The pillar remains usable as a direct-line to Thoth. Thoth’s answer: to make an offering at His statue, loudly invoke His name and offer “the gift of knowledge.”
  • Correct offering to Thoth statue — Thoth answered that the gift must be “the gift of knowledge” offered while loudly invoking His name. The party has not yet successfully activated the statue with this method. Vallium tried offering a mundane book in Session 5 with no result; possibly magic scrolls or something more specific is required.
  • White glass square (8”x8”x0.5”) — Found in trash in a room east of the Thoth chapel. Identified by Pelteon (W13 Discord) as a key to a teleportation device; the magic is in the teleport object, not the glass itself. The destination/device not yet located.
  • Well of Light mirror re-covered — When the party checked the well from the top in Session 4, the mirror at the bottom appeared re-covered despite being cleaned in Session 3. Someone or something is re-dirtying it.

Inter-Session Discord (W13, same week as Session 4)

  • Green Lady selling minor noble titles — Lady Alexia offers land discounts and Warden bounties. Town is “nearing capacity for treasure buying power” — the PCs may eventually need to find markets beyond Gosterwick.
  • Arcane Practitioners Club skirting Collegium monopoly — They deliberately avoid good recordkeeping because the Collegium’s monopoly on magic hasn’t reached Gosterwick yet. If the Collegium arrives, it could change access to magical training and services.

Session 5 — Parleys and The Great Cavern

Demmasday 11th Lucrios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-04-19

Open Threads

  • Lady Alexia’s Regalia — Four items within Arden Vul that Lady Alexia urgently wants; she will richly reward the finders. Lady Alexia deliberately withheld her intelligence so the party would have fresh eyes. Items:
  • Ptarmis — A robed human living on a stone platform in the Great Cavern, calling himself “the master of the cavern.” Vael found him deeply unsettling and flew away. His connection to the sealed purple-glowing doors to the south is unknown.
  • Purple-glowing sealed doors — Massive block-rock doors at the south end of Ptarmis’s platform with no visible handles or keyholes and a purple glow around them. What lies beyond?
  • Clockwork dragonfly with blue gem eyes — Appeared while the party was casting Analyze Magic in the Great Cavern, watched silently, then flew away. Whose construct is it? Is the party being observed?
  • Second magic boot — Only one boot found in the rock reptile cave. Vael’s Seek Magic pointed to the second boot’s location as being on or near the big rock in the open Great Cavern (the one with the creepy pillar on top). Not retrieved.
  • Creepy pillar atop the big rock — Made Vael dizzy when inspected closely. A hole on the other side of the rock drops ~80 feet into another cave below. Both the pillar’s nature and the cave below are unexplored.
  • Gribble — Missing goblin, brother of Weskenim. Sub-chief Bellringer was searching for him when his group was ambushed by beastmen. Bellringer asked the party to relay news to Weskenim if they meet him first.
  • Weskenim — Goblin with a missing brother. Not yet met. The party promised to relay Bellringer’s news.
  • Crystal cave entrance — Spotted high above the Great Cavern pond water, with interesting crystal formations visible inside. Not investigated.
  • Great Cavern entrance from surface (south end) — Found via beastman guide. The party now has an alternate entrance that bypasses the halfling toll-zone. The beastmen used this as part of the deal with Count Skleros.
  • Beastman supply agreement with Count Skleros — Vael agreed to: (1) bring food (wood, iron, steel, Cloud Cap mushrooms, fresh fruits/vegetables) on future visits, and (2) put in a good word with Craastonistorex about him eating beastman troops. Both are unfulfilled obligations after Session 5.
  • Adventuring company legal entity — Vael got a referral to a lawyer who can set up a company as a legal entity. Not yet done.
  • Bank accounts at merchant factors — The party visited all three factors (Rarities, Prosperity, Silent) to look for banking options but did not set up accounts.
  • Ptarmis’s secret tomb — W15 Discord: Vallium shared a rumor that “the great Thothian wizard Ptarmis” built a secret tomb in the huge mushroom fungus cavern (second level from the surface). The party was driven back by “sheep-headed creatures.” They met Ptarmis in Session 5; the location of his tomb is unresolved.
  • Haunted guard tower — W15 Discord: A town record states the guard tower (~250 years old) was built by Archon Adrienic, sent by Emperor Phocion IV to retake Arden Vul. The expedition was massacred and the tower abandoned; locals say it’s haunted. Not investigated.
  • Where to spend accumulating wealth — Ioannes raised this in W15 Discord; no investment mechanisms or new markets found yet. The group is starting to hit the limits of Gosterwick’s buying power.

Inter-Session Discord (W14, same week as Session 5)

  • Set priests as slavers on the Long Stairs — Anyone encountered on the Long Stairs leading to the Set Forum risks enslavement, but the Forum itself is apparently safe. Major faction threat.
  • Hall of Forty Pillars / Obsidian Gates — Right next to each other; the hall is full of albino toads that transform into demons if the wrong person touches the Gates. Future exploration target; significant danger flag.

Completed Items

(Items resolved in a later session or Discord discussion are moved here.)

  • Pyramid of Thoth — how to enter (Session 1 → Session 2): The group found the pyramid in Session 1 and figured out how to enter it in Session 2 by moving the top-of-pyramid statue’s arms forward.

  • Cursed torch — Remove Curse for Vael (Session 2 → between Sessions 2-3): The cursed torch (which stuck to Vael’s hand and darkened the area around him) was successfully Remove Cursed at the Temple of Demma. Ioannes vouched for Vael to get a discount. The torch was kept.

  • Giant rat nest — re-check for missed loot (Session 2 → Session 3): The party returned to the rat nest in Session 3; it was empty. Nothing additional found.

  • Dam water level reset (Session 3): After Craastonistorex demanded it, the group reset the dam wheel to its prior position in Session 3. Done immediately.

  • Dragon tribute — first payment (Session 3 → Session 5): Tribute jewelry was purchased in Session 5 and left on top of the dam as instructed. The lock installed in Session 4 was confirmed intact.

  • Gem of Insight — sell or keep (Session 3 → Session 5): After much discussion (W13 Discord), the group decided to sell it. Lady Alexia purchased it in Session 5, leading to the audience where she revealed the Regalia.

  • Beastmen parley / Children of Deino (Session 3-4 → Session 5): The group formally parlayed with Count Skleros in Session 5, earning safe passage through beastman territory and learning the alternate Great Cavern entrance.

  • Ghouls in beastman room (Session 5): Skleros asked the party to deal with two barricaded ghouls. Vael incinerated the room through the closed door, destroying them. Ioannes decapitated the charred remains. Resolved.

  • Well of Light — first exploration (Session 1 seen from top → Session 3 fully explored): The party reached the bottom via teleporter in Session 3, uncovered the large mirror, and reflected light through the hall of mirrors. The mirror was re-covered by the time of Session 4; an open thread remains about who re-covered it.

  • Teleporter key (white glass square from Session 4) (Session 4 → W13 Discord): Pelteon identified it as a key to a teleportation device. It requires the matching teleport object to function.

  • Green glass square (from Great Cavern sandy island) (Session 5): Also a teleporter key (same type as the white square from Session 4, both identified by context). The matching teleport object has not been found.

Session 6 — Good Ghost, Bad Ghost

Demmasday 18th Lucrios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-04-26

Open Threads

  • Angry ghost at the base of the waterfall — In a ruined tower near the road, a ghost screamed about “Settite murderers” when disturbed. It tried to possess Ashe Maykum (failed), fired a magic bolt, then did not pursue outside. Who was this person, and what did the Cult of Set do to them? Unanswered through Session 10.
  • Two cave entrances behind the waterfall — Ashe used Water Vision and spotted two cave openings behind the falls, 30–40 feet underwater. No way to reach them yet without water-breathing or the like.
  • Pit trap in long north-south corridor — A 20-foot pit opened immediately past the entrance of a long corridor east of the cephalopod room. Beyond the pit, the corridor continues unexplored. Levitation would make this safe.
  • Open double doors near Jacobus’s tomb facing the Great Chasm — The room containing Jacobus’s sarcophagus has double doors opening onto the Great Chasm. What lies on the other side?
  • Book in unknown language — Found in a secret compartment in a stone bench near Jacobus’s study. No one has identified the language.
  • Glass squares accumulating (teleporter keys) — The party now holds multiple glass squares in different colors (white from Session 4, green from Session 5, two more green and yellow from Session 6). All are teleporter keys. The matching devices have not been located yet (though see Session 8a below).
  • Halfling relations deteriorating — Roskelly saw the party use Mystic Mist to smuggle loot past him. He knows they’ve been deliberately evading the tithe. Potential escalation.

Inter-Session Discord (W16, 2025-04-21 to 2025-04-27)

(W16 Discord summary file exists but contains no distilled content — only the header was present in the source.)

Session 7 — Why Did It Have to Be Plants?

Demmasday 25th Lucrios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-04-28

(Note: The vault file for Session 7 is a stub. Full data sourced from RawFiles/GMRecaps.)

Open Threads

  • Archon’s Palace automated voice — The main doors of the ruined palace speak a pre-programmed line: “Stand aside, citizen. This is not your home.” The interior has not been fully explored; only the solarium was entered in detail.
  • Key found on Archon Uriel’s body — A key was recovered from the desiccated corpse in the solarium. Its lock is unknown.
  • Fist-sized orange rock (possible Arcanum) — Found on the same corpse. Ioannes detected it as magical. The group suspects it may be the fabled orange mineral referenced in early rumors (“large supply of a wondrous orange mineral with many arcane uses; why the city was abandoned when the mines ran dry”). Not identified through Session 10.
  • Magic ring of paving stones + 8”x8” grid in the Archon’s Palace — A circle of paving stones and a rectangular array of six 8”x8” square frames. The glass squares the party has been collecting are exactly 8”x8”. This is almost certainly one of the teleporter devices the glass keys are meant for. Not yet activated.
  • Plinth with statue feet (heavily booted) — East of the west bridge on the southern island. The upper statue is gone. The feet appear to be the same scale as the marble arm found near the dry fountain in Session 3. May be parts of the same statue.
  • Silver ankhs in obelisk recesses — Three silver ankhs recovered from the Archon’s Palace corpse. All three fit the recesses on the obelisk. Inserting one produced no obvious effect; inserting all three, or some specific combination, may be required.
  • Wyvern to the southwest — Flew past heading west during the session; one of Craastonistorex’s pets.

Inter-Session Discord (W17, 2025-04-28 to 2025-05-04)

(W17: No in-world content — all rules mechanics and logistics.)

From RawFiles (Session 7 GM notes, 2025-04-28):

  • All the ways into the dungeon — GM posted a player-compiled list of 19+ known entry points and paths. The key unvisited ones include: caves behind the waterfall (underwater), Pyramid move-statue-east and move-statue-west positions, the chute opened by the book-statue, the Selket bust teleporter, the secret door in the baboon mosaic, and the Forum of Set.

Session 8a — Never Trust a Scorpion

Demmasday 2nd Ligarios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-05-10

Open Threads

  • Halflings’ south tunnel — In the room full of sleeping halflings, a barricaded passage slopes downward to the southeast, guarded by two halflings. Where does it lead?
  • Human alchemist working with Phlebotomas Plumthorn — A man observed by Wizard Eye in Plumthorn’s room, taking notes on alchemical processes. Who is he, and what is he making for the halflings?
  • Phlebotomas Plumthorn’s Newmarket extortion ring — Plumthorn was writing a letter about a merchant severely late on protection money, ordering “knee-breaking.” His criminal reach extends beyond the dungeon.
  • Tower of Scrutiny doors confirmed Magelocked — Vael’s Analyze Magic confirmed Magelock plus additional enchantments. The doors are effectively impassable without specialized magic to counter Magelock. The magical darkness staircase inside remains unexplored.
  • Gog’s cave teleporter (magic circle + 8”x8” grid) — Another matching teleporter device, identical to the one in the Archon’s Palace (Session 7). Gog’s cave has the device. The glass square keys presumably activate these. Not yet tested.
  • Selket bust destination unreliable — The scorpion-tail teleporter sent the party to Gog’s cave instead of the Great Hall this time. It’s unclear whether the destination is random, conditional, or changed.
  • Scroll of Thothian prayers — Dropped into the wrong Thoth-statue hole (the wand statue’s hole, which required “the gift of magic”). The scroll was not returned. Is it retrievable?
  • Thothian tomb inscription: “You have found me; let me lie” — The floating corpse in the first tomb. The party triggered a gas trap and otherwise left it alone. Is there something beneath the surface here?
  • Muirasso’s tomb: possible second secret door — Ioannes thought he detected a second secret door in the southeast corner of the burial room; others disagreed. Unresolved through Session 8b/9.
  • Dalton’s invitation — The adventurer Dalton suggested meeting at the Inn of the Broken Head. (Resolved passively — the party found the Inn in Session 8b/9, though they didn’t arrange a formal meeting with Dalton.)

Inter-Session Discord (W18, 2025-05-05 to 2025-05-11)

(W18: No distillable in-world content — all failed research roll results.)

Sessions 8b and 9 — Muirasso’s Tomb and the Broken Head

Demmasday 2nd and 9th Ligarios 2993 AEP | Real: 2025-05-17

Open Threads

  • Two large keys from canopic jar — Found in Muirasso’s treasure vault. Their locks are unknown.
  • Symbol of Fear in Muirasso’s secret passage — Still active in the narrow passage behind the SW secret door. A hazard to any future visitor who doesn’t know it’s there.
  • More gold south of Muirasso’s vault — Vael’s Seek Earth pointed to additional gold south of the emptied vault room. Not found before they left.
  • Inn of the Broken Head — A fortified inn within the ruins with rooms for hire and three competing merchant factors (Prosperity Factor, Wisdom Factor, Golden Band). A new base of operations. Kronos also mentioned the Forum of Set entrance on the west side of the cliff.
  • Arden’s head above the Inn door — Magical, can speak. It said: “Restore me! Courage shall be yours when I am whole and the incantation sung!” Kronos found it in the Forum near the oak tree. Restoring it presumably means rejoining it with the body (the colossal statue of Arden at the base of the waterfall?). The required incantation is unknown.
  • Forum of Set entrance on the cliff face west — Kronos mentioned it as dangerous. Not yet investigated.
  • Unidentified halfling from Tower of Scrutiny roof — Kronos confirmed the two humans found in Session 1 were his former employees Roger and Roger’s cousin. The halfling with them remains unidentified.
  • Three merchant factors at the Broken Head — Crisarius Three-Legs (Prosperity Factor), Fenitior Stone-Hands (Wisdom Factor), Godric the Wise (Golden Band). All compete to buy looted statues. These are different factors from the three in Gosterwick.
  • Gog still waiting for surface food — The party forgot to bring any on their return trip in 8b/9, and Gog threw a tantrum. Ongoing obligation.

Session 10 — Baboons, Ghouls, and a Mule

Demmasday 16th Ligarios 2993 AEP | Real: ~2025-05-17

Open Threads

  • Large baboon cave (Howling Caves) — The tunnel from the cistern leads to a massive cave with dozens of baboons. The group plugged the cistern entrance with Shape Earth and retreated. The cave likely holds more secrets, including the back door to the area where the creepy man with the glass throne was torturing a dwarf (Sessions 3/4).
  • Azure Knights’ magic shield — Found in the ghoul-infested cellar, bears the Azure Knights’ sigil. Likely of interest to Lady Alexia or Sir Lucia. Magical properties not yet identified.
  • Three tapestries from baboon tower — Large (8’x16’, ~100 lbs. each). One shows a wizard-vs.-dragon-rider battle; the second the Fourth Labor of Arden (defeating the Berserkers of Westholm); the third the Seventh Labor of Arden (Arden and Vul fighting a water elemental above a waterfall). Significant artistic and possibly lore value. Sold at some point? Not yet confirmed.
  • Cellar under rubble (north door) — The cellar found via Seek Magic had an east and north door. The west door led to the ghouls (cleared), but the north door was not opened.
  • Shape Earth plug in cistern — Vael spent significant energy to seal the baboon tunnel with shaped stone. This is a temporary-ish fix; something with enough force could break through, or baboons might dig around it.

Inter-Session Discord (W19, 2025-05-12 to 2025-05-18)

(W19 Discord summary file exists but contains no distilled content — only the header was present.)

Inter-Session Discord (W20, 2025-05-19 to 2025-05-25)

  • Thoth statue gem eyes — Rumor: the eyes of all Thoth’s statues are huge gemstones. If removed, they allow the bearer to contact Thoth directly. Many statues were also enchanted. This is a major revelation given how many Thoth statues the party has interacted with. Could the “gift of knowledge” for the offering chest be the gem eyes themselves?
  • The Drowned Canyon — Spoken of widely but no adventurer admits to having found it; some believe it’s a myth. Future exploration target.
  • Banking confirmed: Silent Factor — The party uses the Silent Factor at 1.25%/month (confirmed first engagement in Session 5).
  • Statue of “The Philosopher” with empty eyes — Found in Gosterwick during a town roll. Resembles a classic Archontean archetype but has empty eye sockets. Connection to the Thoth statue gem-eyes rumor?

Completed Items (continued)

  • Prior Jacobus’s ghost (Session 6): Helped him achieve proper burial. Resolved; he rewarded them by pointing to a hidden compartment in his sarcophagus containing a belt and ring.

  • Tower of Scrutiny bronze doors: status (Session 8a): Vael’s Analyze Magic confirmed Magelock plus additional enchantments. The doors are functionally impassable with current means.

  • Phlebotomas Plumthorn identified (Session 8a): Wizard Eye finally let Vael observe Plumthorn directly — a halfling boss running a protection racket with a human alchemist ally.

  • Archon Uriel Basileon’s body recovered (Session 7 found → Session 8a retrieved): The signet ring matched the Basileon family; Lady Alexia confirmed it was likely her ancestor. Sir Lucia’s knights gave it a proper burial.

  • Inn of the Broken Head found (Sessions 8b/9): Located in the northwest ruins. Has an inn (Kronos and Estelle), stabling for the mule, and three competing statue-buying merchant factors.

  • Muirasso’s tomb cleared (Sessions 8a, 8b/9): The wight Muirasso and his zombies were defeated. The treasure vault behind the SW secret door was looted (major haul including platinum, magic items, and gold shabti statues).

  • Baboon tower cleared (Session 10): The four-armed giant baboon was killed; the surviving large baboons fled to the cistern.

  • Bee tower nest destroyed (Session 10): Windstorm chased the bees; tower searched, nothing found.

  • Gog met (Session 8a): Found in an underground cave (not the grotto near the arena as the rumor suggested, or possibly the same place). He is a varumani, not a troll. He knows paths to the goblins and provided a secret staircase past the halflings. He wants surface food as payment.

  • Teleporter device identified (Sessions 7–8a): The ring of paving stones + 8”x8” grid found in the Archon’s Palace (S7) and in Gog’s cave (S8a) are the matching devices for the glass square keys the party has been collecting.

Session 11 — The Great Cavern Redux

Demmasday 23rd Ligarios 2993 AEP | Real: ~2025-05-24

Open Threads

  • Statue of middle-aged man with missing eyes — In the Great Cavern’s eastern passages, a statue of a middle-aged man has two empty eye sockets. The party has now found both gem eyes needed: one silver (Session 11) and one blue (Session 15). What happens when the eyes are restored?
  • “Evil temple” room and the toppled reptilian statue — A large room deep in the western Great Cavern, dedicated to what feels like an evil god, contains decapitated statues, sarcophagi (three already looted), and a toppled reptilian statue with amber eyes that act as a fireball trap. The cave-in to the north is impassable. Notably, the party has the statue’s severed head in their wheelbarrow — someone suggested using it as a lethal gift for the halflings. Who does this temple belong to?
  • Tomb of Lycandus — A Sortian tomb that Klisko’s party was seeking, reportedly accessible via a statue door with empty eyes somewhere in the southwest of the Great Cavern (up a wall). They couldn’t open it and never found it. Location unconfirmed.
  • Fire mephits in orange jackets and top hats — Encountered near a magical pillar of fire in the Great Cavern. They speak an unknown language and smoke mushroom cigars. One discarded cigar stub temporarily dropped Vallium’s IQ and boosted his Perception. What are these things, and what is the pillar of fire?
  • Magic staff from dead elf (Lyra’s staff?) — Found on the decomposing body of an elven woman in the Great Cavern. Not yet identified through Session 15.
  • Glowing blue staff found stuck in the sand — Found in a sand-floored cave near the underground river. Taken by Vael; not yet fully identified through Session 15.
  • Magic bracer from translucent goo — Found mixed with goo and rat activity; extracted with Apportation and washed in the stream. Not yet identified.

Inter-Session Discord (W21, 2025-05-26 to 2025-06-01)

  • Benevolent Brotherhood contact established — The party went to the Baliff’s Truncheon with backup, found a public facade office with a secretary “Shirley,” left a note in an unmarked mailbox. A man named “Petros” (likely an alias) then toured them through the seedier parts of town and arranged to sell their stolen Set armor anonymously at the docks for 40%. A criminal fence is now available for selling contraband.
  • Mushroom field guide — Astableon the bookseller currently has no books about mushrooms in stock. The party still needs to find Cloud Cap mushrooms for Count Skleros.

Session 12 — First Encounter with the Cult of Set

Demmasday 30th Ligarios 2993 AEP | Real: ~2025-05-31

Open Threads

  • Combination puzzle pillars — Two stone pedestals with onyx columns, each divided into five rotating sections carved with five animals: snake, cat, lizard, ram, and winged horse. Confirmed magical. The clerics found no theological connection between the five animals. Left untouched pending more information. Located in the tunnels west of the Cult of Set platform in the Great Cavern.
  • Green material on cave walls — A sample was scraped off and put in a flask. Not yet identified through Session 15.
  • Detection-blocking glyph — A magical glyph on a cave wall that protects from wetness and from detection/scrying. Whose is it, and are they actively hiding from scrying?
  • Skizz and Burzip — Two lizardmen given directions to the Great Cavern in exchange for a promise of goodwill with other lizardmen. They were on a revenge mission against the Cult of Set. Their fate is unknown.
  • Cult of Set western territory — Only partially explored. A storeroom with dried mushrooms, a furnished room with a burning fireplace, and a passage leading north (then a cave-in to the west) were found. Many more rooms must lie beyond. The Cult knows the party killed four of their guards.
  • Klisko as potential hireling — Rescued in Session 11, now confirmed in Gosterwick. He could serve as a lackey if the party can pay his wages.

Inter-Session Discord (W22, 2025-06-02 to 2025-06-08)

  • Ghost lore: Yrtol still unresolved — Ioannes found a book at the Temple of Mitra stating that ghosts return to their haunted spot until their unfinished business is resolved (death avenged, task completed, body buried, etc.). Driving Yrtol away temporarily does nothing permanent. To truly lay him to rest, the party probably needs to either avenge his murder by the Cult of Set or convince him they’re on the same side.
  • Returning pebble — Identified at the APC: it disappears and reappears in the owner’s pocket (currently Chrysalis’s). Not yet clear what triggered this.

Session 13 — Yrtol and the Turtle

Demmasday 6th Jelenius 2993 AEP | Real: ~2025-06-14

Open Threads

  • Yrtol still unresolved — Chrysalis drove the ghost back through the tower wall with Affect Spirits on her staff. He may have heard Ioannes shout that they aren’t Set cultists, but it’s unconfirmed. His basement was looted (silver circlet, flight potion, returning pebble). According to ghost lore, he will return. His murder needs to be avenged by the party — killing Set cultists may be the key.
  • Doors north and east in the Arden cave complex — Beyond the ancient barricade with legionnaire corpses in the behind-the-waterfall area, there are unopened doors both north and east. Not investigated.
  • Locked door south in the Hall of Arden’s Labors — The big room with twelve magical pillars dedicated to each of Arden’s Twelve Labors has a locked door to the south that the party couldn’t open (no Lockmaster available that session). The key found on Archon Uriel’s body in the Archon’s Palace was not tried.
  • Twelve magical pillars (Arden’s Labors) — Each of the twelve pillars is dedicated to one of the Labors of Arden and is magical. Their function is unknown. The inscription says those taking up Arden’s labors must first purify themselves in the pool.
  • Purification pool and Arden shrine — “Those who would take up the labors of the Great Defender must purify themselves.” The pool water is clean. What happens if a properly purified person attempts one of the Labors?
  • Feathered creatures that killed the Azure Knight — The knight’s magic greatsword showed Ioannes a vision: he killed one bear-sized feathered creature with many stabs, then another seized him from behind with huge claws and stabbed/strangled him to death. At least two creatures. They are still somewhere in the Arden complex.
  • Magic greatsword (Azure Knight’s) — Sent a vision to Ioannes when picked up. Probably named or otherwise significant. Not yet identified.
  • Stairs up at east end of Labors room — A second level up, with four ancient bodies and a magic shortsword. The upper level is entirely unexplored.
  • “Now she must be defended” tokens — Two small silver tokens showing Arden on one side. Used to silence the hammer-statue guardian. Still in party’s possession; one used in Session 14 to silence the voice again.
  • Crazy woman with magic belt — Left food for her via a summoned turtle but could not convince her to leave. (Resolved Session 14 — see below.)

Inter-Session Discord (W23, 2025-06-09 to 2025-06-15)

  • The Forum of Set holds public Mysteries — Vallium shared a rumor that the Forum of Set features a large statue of Set with slaves at his feet, a marketplace, and public “Mysteries.” The First Mystery was described as “underwhelming” by the rumor’s source, who wouldn’t reveal its content (“it’s a mystery!”). The Second Mystery was hinted at but cut off. The Forum appears to be more accessible than expected — possibly a front for the cult’s deeper activities.
  • Doppelgangers in Gosterwick — Gedrick Malachite (Priest of Zodarrim in Newmarket) warned Uvash that doppelgangers have been appearing in town and advised inspecting every dwarf carefully. A war between dwarves and doppelgangers is ongoing. Uvash (a dwarf) is explicitly at risk.

Session 14 — Behind the Waterfall Again

Demmasday 13th Jelenius 2993 AEP | Real: ~2025-06-21

Open Threads

  • Stairs up from hammer-statue guardian room — An unlocked door north of the hammer-armed statue guardian leads to stairs ascending to another level. The party turned back rather than start a new level mid-session.
  • Round metal door with raised panel (chitin corridor) — At the end of a chitin-walled passage behind the waterfall area. No handle; the raised panel didn’t respond to Vallium’s armored touch. One hexagonal explosive trap was detonated by a test goat; more may remain. Too strong to smash. Needs magic or the correct key/action.
  • Cult of Set passage from behind the waterfall — At the crossroads in the chitin passage area, a finished stone corridor leads west with stairs up and a silver Set pendant hanging on a sconce. This connects the waterfall complex to the Cult of Set’s territory from a new direction.
  • Six rock elementals — In an ore-bearing cave behind the waterfall area. The party retreated; GOAT plugged the entrance with Stone Shape. The ore in those caves glitters with precious metals. The elementals are still in there.
  • Hall of twenty 10-foot statues — Beautiful teak wainscotting, statues of Arden, Vul, Marius Tricotor, and others. One statue is smashed; an ancient woman with violent multiple fractures lies next to it. The statues are too heavy to easily move. Enormously valuable.
  • Versania — Rescued, insanity cured by Jador at the Temple of Mitra after a large donation by Vallium. She is now volunteering at the House of the Gods. She was a former woman-at-arms; she may have heard things during her years in the complex. Does she remember anything useful?

Inter-Session Discord (W24, 2025-06-16 to 2025-06-22)

  • Secret signal to reach the underground Forum — A rumor: shine two lanterns from the left side of the river at night, then look for a basket on the cliff face. “Stephania” pays well for basic supplies. This is almost certainly the Cult of Set’s supply route into their subterranean Forum.

Session 15 — The Great Cavern Re-Revisited

Demmasday 20th Jelenius 2993 AEP | Real: ~2025-06-28

Open Threads

  • Statue torso still missing — The party now has the head (recovered from the ogres) and has found the plinth with feet and legs at the Sandy River Beach, but the torso/body is missing. The statue is somewhere in the Great Cavern’s underground river area. Who is this statue of?
  • Teleporter color sequence discovered: red-black-yellow-blue-green-white — A parchment found in a mining tools room tells the insertion order for the colored teleporter glass squares. The party currently holds: red (Session 13), white (Session 4), green ×2 (Sessions 5 and 6), and yellow (Session 6). Still needed: black and blue. Inserting all six in order at a teleporter device presumably activates it.
  • Map with 9 rooms and stairs — Found with the color sequence parchment. The area depicted has not been identified yet.
  • Magic necklace with red gem (from the bone cave) — Hanging conspicuously on the north wall of a bone-filled cave. Very suspicious placement. Not yet identified through end of Session 15.
  • Foul-smelling cave above the lake’s east shore — Lacrymosa spotted it from Walk on Air at roughly 40 feet elevation. Not investigated.
  • Long Range Cavern Patrol maps — A beastman sergeant mentioned the Long Range Cavern Patrol might have maps of the Great Cavern. How to get access?
  • Second giant crab — One killed, one stayed deep underwater when its partner surfaced to attack. Still present in the lake.
  • Dead halfling in the ogre cave — The ogres were cooking it. Was this one of Plumthorn’s halflings? A random delver? No identification attempted.
  • Parchment and map — The color sequence parchment also had a map. Not yet located in any known area.

Inter-Session Discord (W25, 2025-06-23 to 2025-06-29)

  • The Shining Well leads to good loot — A rumor confirms the Pyramid of Thoth statue has gem eyes (the party already knows this from W20). It also says the “Shining Well” leads “straight to the sweet loot.” This almost certainly refers to the Well of Light — which the party found at the bottom of in Session 3. The mirror at the bottom was twice covered over by an unknown agent.
  • Research on the teleporting Selket scorpion — No direct results, but something tangentially related was uncovered (details not stated in the Discord summary).

Inter-Session Discord (W26, 2025-06-30 to 2025-07-06)

  • Goblin city entrance via the Great Chasm — A rumor gives directions: find the great stone seat near “Sundered Span” and rappel down the Great Chasm from there. The entrance is a huge iron gate built into the Chasm wall. The goblin king requires tribute. “Sundered Span” is an unknown location, presumably near or over the Great Chasm.

Session 16 — Random Scorpion Teleport to the Hall of Judgment

Real: ~2025-07-05

Open Threads

  • Ruby throne: “Speak the Secret Name and Claim Your Reward” — A massive ruby-encrusted throne in the Hall of Judgment is buried beneath a pile of coins. An inscription reads “Speak the Secret Name and Claim Your Reward.” The Secret Name is unknown.
  • Gwelf the dwarf disappeared during rescue — Gwelf was being brought out alongside Samantha the Red, Tresti, and Jost, then vanished without explanation before the party got him out. (Updated W30: a Seeker spell found his body — he is dead, with a massive cutting wound across the torso, lying in a dark underground cave in an unrecognized location. His killer and the exact location of the body remain unknown.)
  • Goo creature in the southeast pit — The Hall of Judgment contains at least two pits; the party encountered crocodiles in one and a goo creature in another. The goo pit was not investigated.
  • Gerrilad’s faction and masters — The druid and his two giant four-armed baboons controlled the baboon area. His backers are unclear. (Partially answered Session 18: Stamelis confirmed Gerrilad followed an “odd nature religion,” was obsessed with baboons, and had not been in his room for a couple of weeks.)

Session 17 — Cleaning Out the Vermin

Real: ~2025-07-12

Open Threads

  • Lankios the ancient hermit — A former member of the Adrienic expedition, barely clinging to sanity. Refuses to leave until the killing of “Guivrel” by someone named “K” is resolved. Mental state is deteriorating. (Session 19: found absent from his room; Vallium left food and Vael wrote him a note.)
  • Who is “K,” and who was Guivrel? — Lankios’s claim: someone named “K” murdered Guivrel on the Adrienic expedition. No information on either name.
  • Zombie porter with dog collar — A docile zombie in work clothes with a dog collar, left in its room. It follows simple porter commands. Still in its room as of Session 19.
  • Book in unrecognized language — Found in the spider room. Language unidentified.
  • Ridiculously heavy magic spear with Mithric writing — Recovered but the inscription has not been translated and the spear’s abilities are unknown.
  • Map with “secret?” and “short jerks” notations — Found on a carcass creeper victim’s body. The locations depicted have not been matched to any known area.
  • Note: “use a little pyramid to access the Howling Caves” — Found on a dead halfling. The party has a small pyramid teleporter. This suggests a direct route to the Howling Caves may exist if the right teleporter sequence is used.
  • Bronze double doors with orange Continual Light through peepholes — Seen during exploration; not opened. The orange light is unusual.
  • Gregor signet ring — Found on an Archontean corpse. The name Gregor has not been connected to any known NPC or faction.

Inter-Session Discord (W27, 2025-07-07 to 2025-07-13)

  • Rarities Factor goblin wants to buy Arcanum — The goblin running the Rarities Factor (described as “the second richest person in Gosterwick”) offered to buy “a very large quantity of Arcanum.” Lyssandra advised the party to be polite when declining, and described Arcanum as “a magic orange metal found within Arden Vul that can be used as a spell component.” The Arcanum globe retrieved in Session 18 is almost certainly what he has in mind.

Session 18 — Back Down the Well of Light

Demmasday, 11th Masporios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-07-19

Open Threads

  • Stamelis, enchanted head of a Thothian librarian — A sentient stone bust (hundreds of pounds) in what was Gerrilad’s mushroom room. Knowledgeable about the Library of Thoth and willing to talk. The party promised to return and move him to the Library. He is still there.
  • Library of Thoth — Confirmed by Stamelis to be just west of his room. Contains lost and valuable knowledge but is guarded by undead. (W30 confirms: nobody has reached it in recent years.)
  • Large magical cauldron — Recovered from the baboon kitchen. One command word heats it; another chills it. Brought back to Gosterwick. Full magical properties beyond temperature control are unknown.
  • Small silver mirror — Found in a chest in a bedroom adjacent to Gerrilad’s mushroom room. Taken; not yet identified.
  • Double doors to the south (baboon level) — While moving west through the baboon level, the party saw double doors to the south and bypassed them. Unexplored.
  • Brokenneck and his two goblin companions — The three prisoner-cook goblins escaped at the top of the Well of Light during the exit, leaving the cauldron behind. Whereabouts unknown. They know the party.
  • Ketil, Wiskin ranger — Rescued from baboon slavery; helped push the wheelbarrow to Gosterwick. A notable NPC who owes the party. Potentially a source of information about the Wiskin.
  • Marco, Children of Deino beastman — Rescued (his arm was cooked and eaten by Yrsko). Parted ways at the secret entrance into the Great Cavern. Potential friendly contact within the Children of Deino.
  • Arcanum globe — Partially analyzed: can recharge magic items; other powers unknown. Kept by the party (see Rarities Factor buyer thread). Full analysis incomplete.
  • Purple fear glyph in cobwebby corridor — Still active. The party passed through, but it will affect future visitors who don’t know it’s there.

Inter-Session Discord (W28, 2025-07-14 to 2025-07-20)

  • Rumor: Tomb of Julian Grex — A Thothian Archon’s tomb located within a grove of underground almond trees. Location unknown.
  • All seven statues confirmed still standing in the Halls of Thoth — Noted after the baboon-level session. (The party subsequently saw Sekhmet and Osiris animate and fight in Session 19; the count may have fluctuated.)

Session 19 — The Pool of Donkey Ears

Demmasday, 18th Masporios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-07-27

Open Threads

  • Uvash now has donkey ears — Drinking from the orange-lit fountain in the Halls of Thoth transformed Uvash’s ears into donkey ears. No apparent effect on hearing. No known cure.
  • Magical locked doors in the Thoth baboon-statue room — The room contains a large rotating-arm statue of Thoth in baboon form and several doors. One door was opened by a specific arm combination; another appeared magical (likely an ibis-symbol teleportation portal per W32 research). Other arm combinations may open other doors or trigger effects elsewhere.
  • Privy shaft bottom — The shaft descends about 500 feet to a natural cavern with exits east and west, a paved area, a sarcophagus, and four burned corpses. Magic mail armor retrieved by Michael, but a gray ooze remains in the cavern. Exits unexplored.
  • Ring on a ladder rung in the privy shaft — Spotted tied to a rung near the top of the shaft; Coinbase Levitated down to grab it. Not yet identified.
  • Poison darts from sarcophagi — Collected by Vael; the black coating on the tips may be a valuable substance.
  • Pool of sludge sample — Vael filled a vial for analysis at the APC alchemy lab. Results pending.
  • Adventurer’s diary — Found in the cleared stirge nest. Contents unknown.
  • Magic incense and small bronze baton — Also found in the stirge nest; not yet identified.
  • Scroll from the sarcophagi room — Taken from one of the mummies; contents unknown.
  • Sekhmet and Osiris statues animate and fight — When the party entered the hall of seven statues, Sekhmet and Osiris animated and began fighting each other. The Thoth statue commanded them to halt. Is this a regular occurrence? A test?
  • “A smart one must choose” — the Thoth challenge — The Thoth statue froze the whole party except Vael and presented a choice. Vael picked up Osiris’s dropped flail; the lion construct from Sekhmet’s head animated and attacked him solo as the rest of the party stood frozen. Vael survived and received a divine blessing (1 extra HP). What is the deeper significance?
  • Magic flail of Osiris — Kept by Vael. Full abilities unknown.
  • Book: Divine Breath of Thoth (W30): Identified between sessions — the book is Thothian; its back cover contains an uncharged Mystic Mist scroll of Mithric/wizardly origin.

Inter-Session Discord (W29, 2025-07-21 to 2025-07-27)

(No in-world content this week — all out-of-character mechanics discussion.)

Inter-Session Discord (W30, 2025-07-28 to 2025-08-03)

  • Gwelf confirmed dead — A Seeker spell found Gwelf’s body. He has a massive cutting wound across the torso and is lying in a dark underground cave in an unrecognized location. The viewer was too far away to get a directional reading. His killer is still unknown.
  • Library of Thoth — Independently confirmed via research: valuable lost knowledge, but undead guards have prevented access in recent years.

Session 20 — The Outer Caverns of Set

Basilsday, 26th Masporios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-08-02

Open Threads

  • Egrk’s cave people — trade offer pending — Egrk’s people want metal weapons, tools, and cooking pots in exchange for information. The party promised to bring metal goods next time.
  • Three dungeon entrances identified by Egrk:
    • Mid-cliff entrance used by both “snake men” and “lizard people” — two factions sharing one entry point
    • Entrance “far across the waterfall” — used by “barking dogs” (beastmen?)
    • Entrance to the south — used by “blue knights on big horses,” described as jerks
  • Octagonal pillar with empty face reliefs — In a large circular blue-tiled room at the top of 700 feet of stairs. Five faces carved with differently-shaped recesses: a sphere, a large disc, an oval, a small disc (priest of Thoth), and a goblin-nose hole. Nothing the party had matched. Needs the correct objects inserted.
  • Stairs flanked by Set statues heading north — Found but not explored. Leads to an unknown upper area. What is up there?
  • Set cultist supply room — Raided through a bypassed force field: weapons with Imperial seals (taken), basket, ropes. Vael sabotaged the ropes. The Set cultists who return will find apparently-intact ropes that may fail under load.
  • Survivors of the roper cavern encounter — The party tunneled through a cave-in and surprised a group on the other side. Most fled after their rear guard was killed. They know someone attacked through the wall.
  • “Gordy” and “Quade” — Named as rear guards by the fleeing group. Likely named Set cultists or dungeon inhabitants now aware of the party.
  • Letter about Theskelon and his tomb — Found in spider webs with corpses (three human and three lizardfolk). An addendum in different handwriting discusses Theskelon’s tomb. Who is Theskelon?
  • Magical mosaic depicting a bridge — In the large stalactite/stalagmite cavern where the roper was encountered. Significance unknown.
  • Settite frieze on the wall — Immovable but depicts a significant Settite scene in the room entered through the cave-in.
  • Broken Settite Was stick — Found on a skeleton with a second unknown wand. Taken for identification.
  • Unknown second wand — Found alongside the broken Was stick. Not yet identified.
  • Magic ring from inside the roper — Dissected out of the roper’s gut. Not yet identified.
  • Enchanted pelt — One of several pelts in the loot pile is enchanted. Not yet identified.
  • Red Set scale armor — Taken from a lizardfolk corpse in the spider webs. Its properties and usability are unknown.
  • Tripwire at the exit of the roper-cavern room — Spotted by Vallium; avoided. Who set it and what does it trigger?
  • Natural chasm — Vael flew out and was immediately swarmed by chasm cephalopods. After defeating them, the party abandoned further exploration. What lies below or across it?

Inter-Session Discord (W31, 2025-08-04 to 2025-08-10)

  • Lillian located via magic — A Seeker spell showed a woman in a prison cell: beaten, gagged, bound, indoors, lit by Continual Light, with bars on two sides and stone walls on the other two. A Trace on Lillian confirms she is to the north toward the ruins, relatively stationary, with no significant altitude difference from Gosterwick. This very likely identifies Lillian (the missing Mitran priestess sought since before Session 1) as a captive somewhere in or under the ruins of Arden Vul.
  • Dalton stalled on an obstacle — Dalton (of Dalton’s Darlings) was encountered at the Stunned Acolyte and mentioned he is “trying to find a way past something.” (Message truncated.) What has his party stalled on?
  • Litany of Light book is a fraud — Research confirms the ritual described will likely fail and may have negative consequences. The book should not be used.

Inter-Session Discord (W32, 2025-08-11 to 2025-08-17)

  • Ancient obelisks beneath Arden Vul — The Book of Priors references obelisks discovered by the Thothians while building their temples. The obelisks appear related to “demon-worshipping hoppers.” The Thothians built around them rather than destroying them. (Connects to the surface obelisk’s ankh recess from Session 1.)
  • Ibis-symbol doors are Thothian teleportation portals — Research confirms that doors marked with an ibis symbol serve as portals to other locations within the Thothian complex. (The door in the Thoth baboon-statue room that “looked magic” is almost certainly one of these.)

Session 21 — The Library of Thoth

Basilsday, 2nd Gerakios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-08-09

Open Threads

  • Logovores still in the stacks — Small creatures (“logovores”) that grow when they hear new words. Eight were present when the party fought; some may remain deeper in the stacks. Speaking new languages near them causes rapid growth.
  • Library books: thorough search not done — Hundreds to thousands of books fill the stacks. Only Isocritis’s and Tresti’s spellbooks were found via Seek Magic. What else is in there?
  • Tresti’s spellbook — Found in the library stacks. Tresti Iredell (the half-elven mage rescued in Session 16) left it here. Does she want it back? Does Vael want to copy spells from it?
  • Large mirror in the Library — Found near the southern stacks; moved to the librarian’s station. Stamelis confirmed it is related to the Well of Light. Possibly the mirror that goes on the tripod at the bottom of the Well, or a second mirror in the system.
  • Yamki the wounded giant baboon — Surviving leader of the four-armed baboons on the level. Was badly wounded and unconscious at session’s end; Uvash bandaged him. Negotiation about ceding the level to the party was incomplete. Status unclear.
  • Thalia the Thorcin ranger — Rescued from Umsko’s captivity. Armed herself and wanted to kill more baboons. She left with the party; what did she do next? Potential ally with knowledge of the area.
  • Fetch the former baboon slave — Old man, apparently enslaved by baboons for most of his life; barely speaks any human language. Brought to the Temple of Mitra. Does he know anything useful about the dungeon’s interior?

Session 22 — The Oracle of Thoth and the Litany of Light

Basilsday, 9th Gerakios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-08-16

Open Threads

  • Dispelling chamber with three dark mouths — A room with a fresco of an ibis with orange eyes and a scroll of Mithric phrases. Periodically fires a burst that dispels all magic and destroys potions in the area. Three mouth-shaped openings: the east and west are teleporters (traced by Vael); the middle leads to a ramp/stairway down to the Oracle. Not fully mapped; more passages may lead from the mouth tunnels.
  • Oracle of Thoth — A marble chair in a hemispherical room; a warm presence answers one question when you sit. Ioannes asked about the Litany of Light. Others haven’t tried. What are the limits? Anaximander sat for a very long time without getting answers — does it require fresh visitors?
  • Intelligence-boosting magic pool — Pool south of the Oracle room; overflow streams southeast. Ioannes drank and felt smarter; Vael got violently poisoned instead. Can other party members safely try it? Why did it hurt Vael?
  • Soapstone salamander idol over the Great Chasm — Small idol with empty eye sockets and gaping mouth; avoided by the party. Vael was curious but chose caution.
  • Obelisk in the natural cave — A crafted triangular obelisk with a pentagram atop it (possibly silver) and a welded-shut metal coffer inside the pentagram. Extends about 150 feet below. What is inside the coffer? What is the obelisk’s purpose?
  • Glowing orange mail — Found with two dead red-robed figures near the obelisk. Not yet identified.
  • Bronze key from under a corpse — Found in the red-robed corpse room. Lock unknown.
  • Belt pouch from red-robed corpse — Taken without opening. Contents unknown.
  • Secret door NW of Ruby Chair — Found with See Secrets during the Litany; never opened.
  • Secret door behind where the ibis construct stood — Also found with See Secrets; never opened.
  • Spiral stairs down — In the dead-end room east of the ibis construct room. Not descended.
  • Old message in the ivory oliphant: “Me hide pretty rock in water. Nobody find it now!” — A previous visitor’s recorded message. Whose rock? Which water?

Session 23 — The Lillian Rescue (Parts A, B, C)

Basilsday, 16th Gerakios 2993 AE | Real: three consecutive sessions

Sessions 23a (Gelatinous Cube and Slime Kraken), 23b (Disrupting Services), and 23c (Set Jailbreak and Down to Goblintown) all take place on the same in-game day — one extended rescue mission.

Open Threads

  • Fishman prisoner left in Set jail — Six prisoners total; the fishman was unfriendly and spoke no known language. Left in his cell. Who is he and what does he know?
  • Yellow glass sheet from the pool — Magical; found in the desecrated Thoth temple pool where the Slime Kraken was. Not yet identified.
  • Wand from gelatinous cube — Taken from within the cube’s body. Not yet identified.
  • Two magic white gold rings from ghoul crypt — Found in a secret burial niche near the catacombs. Not yet identified.
  • Iron key from the Thoth-pool fountain — Apportated out of the pool. What does it open?
  • Peephole high on west wall of desecrated Thoth temple — Found by the Wand of See Secrets. What does it overlook?
  • Cave-in behind SW secret door in Thoth temple — Too large for Shape Earth to bypass. Connects to unknown territory.
  • Magical goblin head from Set jail wall — Mounted alongside lion, reptile-man, and Gog-species heads. Gribble wanted it destroyed; Vael insisted on keeping it because it’s magical. What does it do?
  • Green Fang Kobolds — Kidnapped Lillian and sold her to the beastmen who sold her to the Cult of Set. An enemy faction.
  • King Weskenim’s reward — Promised to the party for rescuing Gribble; collection deferred until next visit to Goblintown.
  • Quest: Recover the Scepter of the Goblins — Weskenim mentioned this as needed; no details given on where it is.
  • Halfling extermination request from Weskenim — He wants Plumthorn’s halflings removed from his “rightful entrance to the surface.” His words: “just the halfling exterminators I needed.”
  • Demon in a summoning circle in Goblintown — Encountered in a side passage; Killick rushed the party past it without explanation. It was reciting obscure mathematical formulae. What is it, and why is it there?
  • Geleg the wizard — Rescued; promised Vael access to copy spells from his spellbook (which Vael found in the jailer’s lockbox).
  • Eadgithu the Thorcin ranger — Rescued from Set’s chains; grabbed a sword and is free. Potential ally.
  • Grist the Hammer — Dwarf fighter rescued; deeply suspicious of doppelgangers; healed by Ioannes. Potential ally.
  • Azgallatu — Warrior-cleric of Mitra rescued; remained at Lillian’s side and went with her to Newmarket.
  • Cult of Set bounty: $2500 per head — Contract placed on Vael, Vallium, Ioannes, Uvash, Michael, and Susarra. Paid through the Duty Deacon at the Forum of Set.

Inter-Session Discord (W34, 2025-08-25 to 2025-08-31)

(W34 Discord file is a stub — no in-world content.)

Session 22.5 — Gosterwick Aftermath

(Chronologically after Session 23c; describes events in Gosterwick following the Lillian rescue.)

Open Threads

  • Susarra murdered by Cult of Set — Decapitated in her bed at the Yellow Cloak Inn; head and valuable gear taken. Vael cast Seeker + Trace: her head was about 10 miles north, at the elevation of the cliff face (west of the waterfall — the Set basket site). The Trace expires when he sleeps.
  • Vael on a guard’s “list” in Gosterwick — A guard at the crime scene added Vael’s name to a list before being overruled by Audun Yellow-Eyes. A minor security risk in town.
  • Audun Yellow-Eyes informally cooperating — The head of the Drome (Gosterwick’s intelligence service) sent Vael a blood sample for the Seeker/Trace, “officially” denied involvement. A useful but deniable contact.
  • Party moved to the APC — Treating Gosterwick as dangerous after Susarra’s murder; all core members now living at the Arcane Practitioners’ Club for security.

Inter-Session Discord (W35, 2025-09-01 to 2025-09-07)

  • Cult of Set confirmed responsible for Susarra’s murder — Vael argued that the timing and circumstances constitute evidence under ancient standards, and the Drome’s interest in the matter indicates trust. The evidence points clearly to the Cult as the killers.

Session 24 — Revenge on the Set Cult and the Hall of Shrines (Parts A, B)

Mitrasday, 19th Gerakios 2993 AE | Real: two consecutive sessions

Sessions 24a (Revenge on the Set Cult) and 24b (The Set Cult Strikes Back, Larel’s Stuff, and the Hall of Shrines) take place on the same in-game day.

Open Threads

  • Forum of Set briefly reached — The party chased retreating Set cultists down the Sighing Stair and glimpsed the Forum: a large space with a Set animal statue with slaves chained to it, market stalls, food vendors, and a portcullis with guards to the east. They retreated under heavy pressure. The Forum is now a known location — but hostile.
  • Sighing Stair — The wide staircase descending from the Set temple area to the Forum of Set; flanked by busts of priests and stuffed trophy heads (including an enchanted frost giant head that shouts curses in multiple languages).
  • Enchanted frost giant head on the Sighing Stair — Swears in several languages when people approach. Uvash tried goat meat; didn’t work. What is it doing there, and can it be silenced or used?
  • Susarra’s head — location last known — Vael’s Trace showed the head “down and west” from the ruins, likely somewhere in or near the Forum of Set. Trace expired when he slept. Exact location now unknown.
  • Cult of Set survivors from multiple fights — Sergeants, acolytes, and guards fled west down the Sighing Stair. The Cult is aware they’ve been attacked repeatedly; their response is escalating.
  • Apophis the giant lizard and two boars — Found loose in the Set temple during the battle. Whose animals are these, and are they still loose in the temple?
  • Roskelly saw the party emerge from a secret passage — The halfling toll collector now knows there’s a hidden route between the desecrated Thoth temple and the halfling/basement area that bypasses his tolls.
  • Larel One-Eye’s room — A storeroom with frescoes of the Archontean folk hero’s exploits; magic items taken (Larel’s Cloak, Larel’s Sack); Larel’s Pin sold to Wicktrimmer. Letters to multiple women using the exact same phrasing with only the name changed. Funerary urn left behind (not magical per Vael).
  • Hall of Shrines — Eight shrines; seven blocked by force fields; one open shrine has a book, quill, and Mithric writing. A large ibis-headed Thoth statue in the center exhales orange gas (“pneuma”) from its beak; Mithric inscription discusses pneuma. Vael has theories. Several old corpses killed by something strong.
  • Magic sling and magic shield — Found on corpses in the Hall of Shrines; not yet fully identified.
  • Scroll, potions — Also taken from Hall of Shrines corpses; not yet identified.
  • Magelock on the Set temple door — Cast by Vael when the party fled; will slow but not permanently stop the Cult.
  • Sand trap room off baboon-Thoth statue area — Triggered by Vallium opening a sarcophagus; room is now buried under tons of sand. Can be excavated with digging tools and/or earth magic.
  • Two ibis-headed Thoth Guardians — Both emerged from the baboon-Thoth statue arm positions and were defeated. What other positions remain untried?

Session 25 — Looking for the Back Door to the Forum of Set

Tahsday, 27th Gerakios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-10-11

(Two-week real-world break before this session.)

Open Threads

  • Yrtol’s specific conditions — Ghost Yrtol will not be appeased until: (1) the party has killed 50+ more Cult of Set members, and (2) they recover Nyema’s body. Her body had a wedding necklace with her name in Mithric. Yrtol said: “Don’t come back until you’ve done both.”
  • Nyema’s body — Somewhere in the dungeon; has a Mithric-inscribed wedding necklace. Location completely unknown.
  • Set kill count toward Yrtol’s 50 — The party has killed many Settites across Sessions 22.5–24. How many more to reach 50?
  • Stairs down to octagonal room (back door to Forum) — Found west of the Set guard post in the Great Cavern cliff. Leads down and south to an octagonal room with four exits, four Varumani guards in ambush position. The party identified this as the Forum’s back entrance and retreated. This is the route they need.
  • Varumani in ambush — Four of them guard the octagonal room at the base of the back-door stairs. Well-positioned and armed with mattocks.
  • Golden cat statue (Bastet icon) — Telepathically broadcast: “Avenge this wrong! Return me to my sister-people. Touching is forbidden!” Three dead humans and a dead lizard surround it — apparent victims of touching. No nearby worshippers of Bastet known. Left in place.
  • Shimmering opalescent fog cave — Adjacent to the Bastet statue. Nobody went in; purpose completely unknown.
  • Beastmen of Androsia — Six skinny troopers “guarding” a room; deceived by Larel’s Cloak and some food while Vael invisibly looted their storeroom. They may eventually notice their gold and magic items are gone.
  • Magic glass eyes from Androsia beastmen room — Found mounted on a wall; taken. Not yet identified.
  • New Bag of Holding — Found in the Androsia beastmen room; heavier and larger capacity than Larel’s Sack. Party now has two bags. May sell one.
  • Fire mephits want Eye Opener mushrooms — The three mephits near the magical fire column in the Great Cavern are out of their favorite mushrooms. The party needs Cloud Cap mushrooms for Count Skleros anyway — if Eye Openers are similar or nearby, this could be consolidated.
  • Old Archontean temple atop a stone pillar in the Great Cavern — Spotted by Vael from Levitation height; not visited or investigated.
  • Large eastern plateau in Great Cavern — Seen twice: a strange metal pillar on top and a cave descending inside. Still uninvestigated.
  • Wicktrimmer deal and relationship established — Leader of the Rarities Factor; gave party 20,000 silver + lifetime banking + Narsileon shopping service + enemy intelligence in exchange for Larel’s Pin and right of first refusal on future sales. A powerful new ally.
  • Right for Riches Company officially incorporated — Legal documents filed by halfling lawyer Barnaby Goodbarrel; approved by Thesmothete Eusbia Phokas of Vetucaster. The company can now legally own property.
  • Black pudding sample — Vael extracted a vial of the black pudding from the southwest cave. For the APC lab.

Inter-Session Discord (W38, 2025-09-22 to 2025-09-28)

  • Someone made an inquiry about the living wheelbarrow in the dungeon — An unnamed party asked Ioannes about the wheelbarrow left underground. Who is asking, and why?

Session 26 — The Scouring of the Shire

Lunday, 1st Besemios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-10-18

Open Threads

  • Dam sabotage and theft — Someone removed the party’s lock from the dam, changed the water level again, and stole the stored tools and wheelbarrow. Vael’s Seeker put the stolen wheelbarrow in Newmarket, but the thieves were not pursued.
  • Craastonistorex tribute/warden obligations continue — The dragon demanded immediate correction of the dam and another tribute payment, accepting only a potion under threat. The party is still effectively on the hook as wardens of the dam.
  • Floating Thothian bust in former halfling territory — In a room off the Glory of Thoth, the group found an immovable floating magical bust near a teleportation circle. It did not respond to conversation, and they left it alone.
  • Rizzit the imprisoned demon — On the way to the Great Hall, the party again passed the creepy purple wax demon, who asked to be freed. They still do not know what would happen if he were released.
  • Orange oval object from Leifcrim — A small nonmagical-seeming orange oval made of strange chitin-like material bears unknown glyphs. Its purpose is still unknown.

Inter-Session Discord (W41, 2025-10-13 to 2025-10-19)

  • Lizardman cave halfway up the cliff — A rumor from Roscoe says lizardmen use a cave entrance halfway up the cliff, left of the waterfall, and set traps along the Swift River for captives. This may be a new access route into the dungeon.
  • Historical dragon massacre on the cliff — Roughly 50 years ago, Lord Burdock’s men tried exploring the ruins via the Long Stair, met a huge green dragon, and were nearly wiped out. This helps explain why local exploration of Arden Vul stayed limited for decades.

Session 27 — The Tomb of Ptoh-Ristus

Mitrasday, 10th Besemios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-10-25

Open Threads

  • Jacobus’s newly found key and maps — Searching Prior Jacobus’s rooms uncovered a key and multiple maps that had been missed before. Their locks/locations have not been matched yet.
  • Horned-biped stela room across the Great Chasm — The party spotted a chamber with a large floor stela showing a horned biped surrounded by glyphs in an unknown language. Vael thought the script resembled the glyphs on the orange oval object from the goblin market. The room’s exits were not explored.
  • Death Mask of Ptoh-Ristus residual magic — The golden death mask grants several understood powers, but part of its magic remains difficult to identify even after attempts by Vael, Lyssandra, and Pelteon.
  • Unknown-language book from Ptoh-Ristus’s tomb — One of the recovered books remains unreadable. Its contents could still matter.

Inter-Session Discord (W42, 2025-10-20 to 2025-10-26)

  • Tomb of Lycandus concealed by illusions — New research says Lycandus’s remains are hidden by illusions. This supports the earlier rumor that the tomb is reachable through a statue-door with empty eyes somewhere in the southwest Great Cavern.
  • Ptarmis may control the Fungal Foresters — Research linked Ptarmis to control over the fungal faction, adding another layer to his influence in the Great Cavern.
  • Obsidian Gates still not bypassed — Amhit reportedly found the Obsidian Gates but still could not teleport behind them. The problem remains unsolved.

Session 28 — Teleport Rugs and Baboons

Tahsday, 18th Besemios 2993 AE | Real: ~2025-11-01

Open Threads

  • Stamelis wants a proper Thothian assistant — Stamelis is secure in the Library of Thoth, but he cannot fetch books or turn pages. He specifically wants a priest of Thoth or similar help.
  • Ruby Chair secret name — The inscription still reads “Speak the Secret Name and Claim Thy Reward,” but neither Stamelis nor the library search yielded the name.
  • Who is Arpostas? — The ghost of Ptirasa warned that “Arpostas is a traitor,” but the party has no idea who Arpostas is or what was betrayed.
  • Trefko’s Dwarven Life-Stone owner — The life-stone traded for the live goat bears the name Schist Corundam. Who this dwarf was, and how Trefko got the stone, remains unclear.
  • Mirror vandalism problem only partially contained — Yamki blamed mirror-fouling on Trefko and Sisko’s former harem; the party negotiated temporary peace and supplied a sheet to cover the mirror. Whether this actually solves the problem is unproven.

Inter-Session Discord (W43, 2025-10-27 to 2025-11-02)

  • Knight Sixth is missing — Iris of Second Chance reported that one of the pale armored knights was asking after a missing comrade named Sixth. Their order will pay for information about his whereabouts.

Session 29 — The Tower of Scrutiny

Horasday, 26th Besemios 2993 AE | Real: ~2025-11-08

Open Threads

  • Rear secret door of the Tower of Scrutiny — The party found a hidden stone door on the tower’s exterior with a small keyhole, but none of their keys fit and they had no way to open it.
  • Tower lower levels remain only partially explored — The group retreated from the tower after reaching the shaft level. Multiple locked rooms, a trapdoor, and the deeper structure beneath the spiral stairs remain unexplored.
  • Wraiths in the tower shaft — At least four wraiths emerged from the central shaft and nearly killed the party. What they are, why they are there, and what killed the many dead explorers in the tower is still unresolved.
  • Suspicious orange silk robe — An intact bright orange robe with blue embroidery survived in an otherwise decayed room. It did not register as magical, but its preservation is unexplained.
  • Caverns above the Well of Light — Past Gwelf’s death site, the party found a very long descending dry tunnel, a giant graveyard with “Brother” sarcophagi and at least one active mummy, more spider-haunted passages, and a red-lettered crossroads beyond two pit traps. Most of this new area remains unexplored.

Inter-Session Discord (W44, 2025-11-03 to 2025-11-09)

  • Second Chance Company formed — Geleg, Tresti, Klisko, and Samantha the Red are now operating together as a new adventuring party. They may become allies, rivals, or information sources.
  • Kerbog Khan — Hjalti reported that the Settites were hunting an evil sorcerer named Kerbog Khan on behalf of one of the Collegium. Neither the party nor the rescued prisoners know the full story.
  • Ptarmis historical research — New lore says Ptarmis was a famous early Thothian priest who opened the Great Cavern to Archontean control and bred giant mushrooms, reinforcing how strange it is that a living “Ptarmis” still rules part of the cavern.

Session 30 — The Tomb of Theskalon

Lunday, 9th Basilembrios 2993 AE | Real: ~2025-11-15

Open Threads

  • Flavius Aurelius mule-train contact — The party met a merchant who regularly resupplies the Inn of the Broken Head. He could become a useful logistics contact.
  • Dark shaft cave with black flower and orange materials — Deep under the southeastern Great Cavern rock, the party found a black flowering plant growing in total darkness, plus flasks/discs of strange light and heavy orange substances. Their nature is still unknown.
  • Still deeper level below the dark shaft caves — A lower cavern complex with water and a further descending tunnel was found but not explored in depth.
  • Ptarmis’s temple-tomb versus living Ptarmis — The temple atop the western pillar bears a sarcophagus for Ptarmis, yet a living Ptarmis still sits on his throne elsewhere in the Great Cavern and claims the whole cavern as his. The contradiction is unresolved.
  • Abandoned Settite outpost and bat-worm scout — The southwestern Set outpost was suddenly empty, and the only watcher was a bat that turned into a strange worm when killed. Why the area was abandoned is unknown.
  • Hall of Worthies / broken Sortian display — The room of statues includes a missing Priscus Pulcher statue, a sparkling headless statue of Thrygga the Mighty in impossible armor, fresh flowers, and an unfinished inscription cut off by a hole in the wall. The significance of the whole display is unclear.
  • Blue pillar recess puzzle — The octagonal blue pillar has now been partially activated with coins in the woman’s eyes, teleporting the party to the moon obelisk. The handsome man, varumani, and goblin recesses still need the correct items.
  • Sun/Moon/Star obelisk alignment — The party has now identified the moon obelisk and located the star obelisk in the swamp; they suspect all three obelisks matter at midday, but have not tested the full puzzle.
  • Harold’s former party and Gillen the bandit — Harold claimed his leader Gillen abandoned tomb-robbing for kidnapping and slave-selling with the Settite Guild of Service. Gillen’s current whereabouts are unknown.
  • Copper maps and unknown-language texts from Theskalon’s tomb — Theskalon’s tomb yielded three copper plaques with maps, notes in Mithric, other glyphs in an unknown language, two unreadable books, and another unmatched key.

Session 31 — I Want to Believe

Lunday, 21st Basilembrios 2993 AE | Real: 2025-11-22

Open Threads

  • Beacon crash and Rudishva treason mysteryAkla-Chah revealed that the Beacon is part of a crashed Rudishva vehicle, that the Rudishva/Varumani/Varuda once lived here, and that a devastating internal treason destroyed them. The details of that betrayal remain unknown.
  • Captain Leil-Jor’s missing body — Akla-Chah said the Beacon’s captain, Leil-Jor, was killed in the treason, but she does not know where the body is.
  • Second construct in the Beacon has gone insane — Akla-Chah warned there is another construct like her somewhere in the Beacon, but it went crazy and should be avoided.
  • Beacon lower rooms and unidentified devices — The workshop, hidden storage room, control chairs, wall switches, map room, and “power” room all contain poorly understood Rudishva devices. The party still does not know how most of them work.
  • Barge wreck in the lake and the huge turtle/crocodiles — Vallium looted the wreck once, but the hostile aquatic life remains and the site may still hold more.

Inter-Session Discord (W45, 2025-11-10 to 2025-11-16)

  • Beacon effectively claimed as a base — The party now treats the Beacon levels as secure downtime space reachable by Rug teleport, but this assumes no hidden hostile presence remains.
  • Rudishva devices book gives only partial safety — Research indicates experimentation is safer if done with the right page open, not actually safe. Many devices still remain easy to mis-handle.
  • Lord Iskander Burdock recruiting delvers — Lady Alexia’s half-brother is hiring adventurers on a 50/50 basis, which may create new competition for major finds in Arden Vul.

Inter-Session Discord (W46, 2025-11-17 to 2025-11-23)

  • No town records of the Beacon — Research in Gosterwick turned up nothing on the Beacon, reinforcing how hidden its history is.
  • Rudishvan funerary practice problem — Lyssandra explained that proper Rudishvan disposal methods are mostly impossible with current Beacon capabilities, which may matter if the party starts uncovering more Rudishva dead.

Session 32 — Fast Exploration

Lunday, 28th Basilembrios 2993 AE | Real: ~2025-11-29

Open Threads

  • Statue-door with empty eye sockets on southeastern Great Cavern ledge — The magical face-door clearly wants the silver and blue gem eyes, but the party still refuses to risk inserting them blindly.
  • Sealed round Rudishva door on the Arden level — None of the party’s keycards opened the scorched round door in the burned white-marble corridor. Whatever lies beyond remains sealed.
  • Vanishing earth elementals — The pair that ambushed the party disappeared again and were never tracked down.
  • Phase spider above the fungal forest — The spider that nearly got Vael phased away and remains somewhere in that region.
  • Varumani passports — Guards on the varumani level refused entry without passports but gave no useful instructions on obtaining them. The party still lacks legal access.
  • Mysterious wizard faction waiting on Weskenim — Multiple human wizards and bodyguards are camped in hidden rooms near Goblintown, apparently seeking an audience with the goblin king while concealing their identity and warning others away.
  • Danger door in goblin-labeled corridor — The graffiti-marked eastern door on the hidden level still has not been opened.
  • Gold/platinum near the troll lifts — Seek Earth located more treasure near or north of the varumani lift camp, but the party did not pursue it.

Inter-Session Discord (W47, 2025-11-24 to 2025-11-30)

Session 33 — Nyema

Lunday, 5th Dikaios 2993 AE | Real: ~2025-12-06

Open Threads

  • The Thane kidnaps baboons from the Howling Caves — Yamki and Bumpko reported that the Thane and bald human followers came from the south-cliff route, used bad juju to stun baboons, and kidnapped Bobo and Bifki. Rescue/retaliation remains pending.
  • South passage from the Howling Caves to the cliff — The baboons confirmed a route south from their territory to the cliff face. This becomes a major new access path.
  • Secret door high on the Goblin Great Hall wall — Ioannes found a secret door far above the market floor, but the party left it unopened because too many goblins were watching.
  • Temple of Set side-caves not fully cleared — After recovering Nyema, the party also found a jeweled snake, a chained wild boar, a mummy tomb, a corrosive basin room, multiple deep shafts and stairways, a hidden Rudishva-style section beyond the prison, and an unopened secret door none of them could figure out.
  • Corrosive basin liquid — Vael bottled the burning liquid from the sloped marble room for later analysis.
  • Deep exits below the Set temple area — The 200-foot hole, 250-foot trapdoor drop, stairs down, and short rope-ladder drop to the Catacombs of Thoth were all noted but not explored.
  • Copper slate and three stone hands in the Rudishva ruin — Recovered from the spider room; their purpose is still unknown.
  • Yrtol not fully resolved — Returning Nyema’s body made Yrtol disappear and left behind two shocking eye-shaped sapphires, but the GM note explicitly says this did not fully end the quest. Something about Yrtol’s arc remains unfinished.

Inter-Session Discord (W48, 2025-12-01 to 2025-12-07)

  • Teleportation-ring context expanded — Stamelis remembers the Thothian teleportation rings and confirms the glass squares were standardized but destination order varied. The party now knows more about the system, but still not the missing sequences.
  • Special padded bag for the teleport squares — Research confirmed the priests eventually used custom compartmented bags because the squares were fragile. This matters now that the party holds full sets.

Sessions 34a–34c — Hunting the Thane / Tower of the Ape / Burglary and Death

Real: ~2025-12-06 to 2025-12-20

Open Threads

  • Tikun Thane escaped to Narsileon — After a prolonged running battle in the Tower of the Ape, Thane fled. Vael’s Seeker/Trace later placed him in Narsileon, apparently via teleportation.
  • Tower of the Ape still partly unexplored — Even after the return trip, the party left with unresolved upper and lower areas, a disabled teleporter, abandoned labs, and other rooms only partly searched.
  • Why the Rugs of Instant Access failed — The rugs stopped working during the Thane hunt, then later worked again. The apartment burglary/fire and whatever interfered with the Tower teleporter suggest a deeper explanation still may exist.
  • Apartment burglary and dead thief — Someone burglarized the party’s APC apartment, triggered an explosive fire effect, died horribly, and damaged party property. The identity, employer, and exact goal of the thief remain unknown.
  • Nataraja Watcher / trapped apartment hazards — The grinning statue head and unknown knife in the apartment strongly suggest someone was tampering with or stealing dangerous artifacts. There may still be security issues around stored loot.
  • Bobo and Bifki after rescue — The party freed the two baboons from the Tower basement, but their condition and any longer-term consequences of Thane’s abuse are not yet explored in this tracker.
  • White-fur manacles and ape-training setup — The Tower of the Ape held cells, training abuse, white-furred restraints, trained baboons, and disciplined guards. The full purpose and extent of Thane’s program remain unclear.
  • Disabled teleporter frame from the Tower of the Ape — The group hauled the inert portal frame back with them, but it is still broken and unexplained.
  • No-mana corner in the baboon cell — Vael found a localized no-mana zone in one corner of the baboon prison cell. Cause unknown.
  • Basil the page/assistant — The party hired Basil to turn pages for Akla-Chah and Stamelis in the Beacon. This is the group’s first employee and may create new logistical/security considerations.

Inter-Session Discord (W48, 2025-12-01 to 2025-12-07)

  • Adrienic expedition insignia context — Research tied the ram symbol to the Sheep’s Head Legion and confirmed Adrienic’s expedition included that legion plus the third cohort of the Imperial Tagmata, supporting threads around the mailed fist insignia and ruined military remains.

Inter-Session Discord (W50, 2025-12-15 to 2025-12-21)

  • Land near the APC / empty lots — Property near the Arcane Practitioners’ Club is available but expensive; Lady Alexia may grant land. This is relevant if the party needs safer storage after the burglary/fire.

Session 35 — The Scepter / Flute of the Goblins

Real: ~2025-12-27

Open Threads

  • Golden Rudishva oval plaque map — Temrin completed a map to a gold keycard, but the party broke off that objective to chase the Scepter instead. The gold plaque remains unfound.
  • Unidentified secret storeroom cache above Goblintown — The room behind the high wall secret door held advanced armor, magical prayer rugs, carpets, a magical runic rod, and other stored goods. The provenance and intended users of the cache are still unknown.
  • Hidden wizard faction led by “Lukor” still unresolved — The secretive mages near Goblintown still refuse to identify themselves and are clearly pursuing their own agenda.
  • Beastman captive in Goblintown — A beastman sergeant quietly asked whether someone could intervene with the king to free one of their men. The party did not follow up.
  • Ambrosia and charmed beastmen — Skleros reacted strongly when Vael mentioned beastmen loyal to Ambrosia rather than Deino somewhere in the Great Cavern. This remains a live faction thread.
  • Second set of Rugs of Instant Access — The party found another pair of teleport rugs. Whether to keep or sell them remains unresolved.
  • Urn of heavy “gold” in the Scepter cave — One urn seemed to contain a massive block of gold under shallow water. The party removed the whole urn, but its exact nature still needs confirmation.
  • Scepter of the Goblins may actually be a giant bone flute — Seeker led them to a magical hollow legbone flute in an urn. The party believes this is the Scepter, but its true function and significance still need confirmation with Weskenim.

Inter-Session Discord (W51, 2025-12-22 to 2025-12-28)

  • Cloud Cap and Eye-Opener mushroom knowledge — Fael’s guide now confirms Cloud Caps as a healing/food resource and Eye-Openers as a dangerous but useful sensory mushroom, directly advancing older threads involving Count Skleros and the fire mephits.

Session 36 — Rescuing Deino’s Kids

Basilsday, 4th Fidios 2993 AE | Real: ~2026-01-03

Open Threads

  • Goblin Great Gates to the west — Weskenim told Hama and Company that opening the Great Gates would count as a major service. The gates remain unopened and important.
  • Northeastern Great Cavern skeletal pool and bronze rod — Vallium dove a freezing pool and recovered a limed skeleton, loot, and a mysterious bronze rod. Their significance remains unresolved.
  • Phase salamander island statue — The island’s vaguely reptilian statue still has not been reassembled or properly investigated.
  • Dragon war with Deino now explicit — Craastonistorex sent back bones of eaten beastmen and demanded renewed tribute from Deino. The party arranged a meeting with Count Skleros in seven days to address the dragon problem.
  • Middle-aged-man image beyond the construct hall — The mural with empty eye sockets behind the Pit of Fire construct hallway clearly connects to the recurring eye-socket/face-door theme, but its exact role is still unknown.
  • Two unopened doors beyond the construct hallway — After defeating the six construct spearmen, the party stopped before opening the remaining doors east of the hall.

Inter-Session Discord (2026-W01, 2026-01-05 to 2026-01-11)

  • Secret-library letter context — Research on Hellas’s letter to Neferet confirms a dispute over moving a hidden library and accuses Neferet of necromancy and seeking eternal life. This strongly deepens the Neferet/secret-library thread.
  • Stamelis backstory clarified — Research confirms Stamelis served through the 1700s AEP as Librarian Emeritus and was simply left behind during the civil war evacuation, giving more context to anything he says about the old Thothian complex.

Session 37 — Deino and the Eyeballs

Basilsday, 11th Fidios 2993 AE | Real: ~2026-01-10

Open Threads

  • Hidden temple of Bastet under Arden Vul — The Avatar of Bastet confirmed a lost underground temple and said Bastet’s people would like their treasures recovered.
  • Burglary aftermath from Onyx’s account — Onyx witnessed the apartment thief triggering the fireball while trying to steal from the party. The burglar’s employer and motive remain unresolved.
  • Cloud Cap trade / Deino relationship — Deino explicitly wants Cloud Cap mushrooms and may exchange aid or goodwill for them.
  • Roger the Rapier wants ankh keys — Roger privately revealed he needs an ankh key for a puzzle. The party played dumb, but he is clearly on a similar trail.
  • King Wesky I and II floating heads — The newly awakened floating head was identified by goblins as “King Wesky II,” and they also have a “King Wesky I.” Their origin and function remain obscure.
  • Women-led faction beyond the feather-door stairs — After 900 feet of descent, the party met an organized faction of mages and fighters who recognized them, claimed the territory, and ordered them to negotiate only through Lukor. Their identity and goals remain unresolved.
  • Sarcophagus with magical bones and red armor — The spearman tomb yielded magical protective bones and gear, but the deeper meaning of the occupant and tomb is still unclear.
  • Secret library materials tied to Neferet — The hidden south room off the librarian’s quarters contained a cache of books/scrolls and the Hellas-to-Neferet accusation letter. What else in those papers matters is still open.
  • Clockwork raven / shocking automaton — The strange magical raven in the unexplored room shocked Vallium and was carried out, but remains unidentified.
  • Cursed magical book that ripped out Vael’s eyes — The trapped book is a major hazard and may still contain valuable information if handled safely.

Inter-Session Discord (2026-W02, 2026-01-12 to 2026-01-18)

  • Town silence around Set — Nobody in town wants to talk about Set, which reinforces how dangerous or compromised local knowledge around the cult may be.
  • Map saying “we can go deeper” — A newly found map indicates yet another route deeper, supporting the expanding lower-level threads from the secret library / Set side complexes.

Session 38 — Another Attack on the Temple of Set

Basilsday, 11th Fidios 2993 AE | Real: ~2026-01-17

Open Threads

  • Tuftwillig the oak as a potential ally against the dragon — The ancient oak hates Craastonistorex and the undead in the Tower of Scrutiny, and may be able to call animal help, but no concrete pact exists yet.
  • Remaining Settites escaped the temple assault — The party killed many guards and cultists, but survivors fled through secret routes and remain active.
  • Jeweled serpent construct stored in the Beacon — Vallium wrestled the animated serpent into captivity and left it in a side room. It remains dangerous and unresolved.
  • Rudishva mural chamber with electrical trap — Behind the jail’s secret route, the party found a trapped room containing a charred Thothian corpse, a levitating transport disk with a carved slab, and a chest. The area may hold more untouched technology.
  • Levitating slab/disk and its glyphs — Vael learned command words for the ground-level levitation disk, but the stone slab’s picture and glyphs still need interpretation.
  • Further secret routes from the mural complex — A secret door from the disk chamber links back toward the Great Cavern outpost, implying more strategic movement through this zone than the party has fully mapped.

Session 39 — Diving for the Yellow Card

Lunday, 19th Fidios 2993 AE | Real: ~2026-01-24

Open Threads

  • Meeting with Roger in one week — Roger agreed to demonstrate how he found Thoth’s treasury in exchange for an ankh key, with a scheduled meeting in the Glory of Weskenim.
  • Craastonistorex’s tower still only partly scouted — Vael’s Clairvoyance saw wyverns, chests, heavy doors, and the head of a sorcerer statue in the cellar, but not the dragon itself.
  • Garden island in the Great Chasm — The tropical floating island has strange bright non-magical globes overhead, a hilltop pool of green water, and treasure inside the hill. The party only sampled the water and left.
  • Possible varumani territory hidden above the chasm stairs — Vael found handholds and a hidden door above the staircase route, but chose not to penetrate farther.
  • Monkey-trash plateau and Chibalba statue — The trash plateau at the floor of the Great Chasm held a summoning statue of Chibalba and a hidden entrance into a Rudishva bastion area.
  • Rudishva security room and unexplored devices — The newly reached bastion contains high-tech rooms, a command desk/chair, multiple teleport discs, force fields, burned corpses, melted devices, mystery liquids, and more technology still not understood.
  • Yellow keycard and black rectangular card — The party recovered the yellow plaque they were seeking plus a black card of a different form factor. The black card’s purpose is unknown.
  • What the teleport niches do — The yellow keycard drops force fields and controls at least one teleport niche, but the destinations were still considered too risky to test at the end of the session.

Session 40 — Taking Command

Tothsday, 20th Fidios 2993 AE | Real: ~2026-01-25

Open Threads

  • Rudishva trapped quarters / numbered control panel — One bastion room exploded when investigated and also contained a small numbered panel under the bed. The panel’s purpose remains unknown.
  • Variable wall screens and white-metal rooms — Multiple Rudishva living quarters contain changing star/landscape displays and unfamiliar technology, much of it still unexplained.
  • Horned skeleton sentries and the vertical shaft — Waving the yellow card pacified two horned skeletons guarding a magical vertical shaft with smashed human remains. The shaft itself remains unexplored upward.
  • Opalescent liquid pool — A sample was taken, but the nature and use of the clinging opalescent liquid remain unknown.
  • Command Tablet and actual authority over the Beacon — Akla-Chah and the bridge computer accepted Vael as acting captain once the tablet was inserted. What command over the Beacon can actually accomplish remains largely unexplored.
  • Teleport network mapped only partially — The party confirmed several teleporter links between the Beacon, bastion, and other Halls locations, but many endpoints remain unknown or only lightly scouted.
  • Seed vault / storage chest and agricultural complex — One teleporter destination held a huge chest full of labeled seed boxes and adjacent empty bins. The purpose and potential use of the recovered seeds remain unresolved.
  • Assassin-vine garden and connected complex — The magically lit garden links to more rooms, including a command-type chamber, library, sleeping cells, more teleporters, and secret passages. The full complex remains only partly searched.
  • Rudishva officer corpse in the swivel chair — The dead Rudishva in the command-like room carried yet another yellow and silver identity plaque. Their identity and story remain unknown.
  • Rudishva/Mithric translation book and unread scrolls — The small library contained a partially completed Rudishva-to-Mithric translation work plus three unread Rudishva scrolls, all likely high-value information sources.
  • Varuda/Varumani/Heqeti zombie room — The dead-end oval passage opens into a chamber of multiple species’ zombies and wall maps. Why all these groups died together there remains unexplained.
  • Lower dark teleporter and fire-room teleporter — One teleporter goes down into darkness; another goes to a bright chamber with nataraja figures and a wall of fire. Both remain unentered.

Inter-Session Discord (2026-W03 / 2026-W05, 2026-01-19 to 2026-02-08)

  • Captain Leil-Jor’s yellow plaque has broad Rudishva access — Akla-Chah believes the captain’s oval plaque should open essentially any Rudishva door and activate any captain-restricted teleporter.
  • Black card is likely a Rudishva security key — Akla-Chah identified the black rectangular card as some kind of security credential, but not what systems it governs.
  • Leil-Jor’s unfinished small-craft project — Beacon records imply Captain Leil-Jor was trying to modify a small craft for long-range flight to call for help, but lacked a sufficient power source.
  • Bridge cameras show deep containment units — The bridge security feed includes a room of vertical coffin-like containment pods about 150’ deep, tying into still-unreached Rudishva destinations.
  • Obsidian Gate opening sequence learned but untested — Vallium heard a three-spell method to open the Obsidian Gates: Lockmaster, Shape Earth, then Blink.

Session 41 — Theft and Counter-Theft

Tothsday, 27th Fidios 2993 AE | Real: ~2026-01-31

Open Threads

  • Arcane Vengeance probing around the Beacon approaches — The rival elf party was resting above the lower routes after casting detection spells, suggesting active interest in the same Rudishva zones.
  • Lizardmen near the secure treasury fanworks — The party made brief contact with intelligent lizardmen near the air-circulation machinery, but no alliance, trade, or territorial understanding exists yet.
  • Disabled teleport alcoves in the pillar room — Multiple Rudishva teleport niches were found deliberately blocked off with marble and transparent covers; their destinations remain only partially scryed and untested.
  • Bird-statue octagon and dead dwarves — The giant bird guardian, the slain dwarven explorers, and their rough copper map indicate a larger unfinished dwarf thread in this southwest Rudishva zone.
  • Varuda caves and dead bird-men — The colorful bird-zombie cave, upper ledge corpses, laser gear, and evidence of inter-varuda violence still have no clear explanation.
  • Varuda nursery / food-machine room — The room with dead infant varuda, NutriVore machines, and the translated loyalty plaque suggests a broken Rudishva/varuda support area that has not been fully interpreted.
  • Settite room beyond the stolen-rug chamber — After recovering the green Rug, the party also found poisoned wine, a magical devil head, a trapped box, and a secret south door opening on kaliyani territory; none of that has been followed through.
  • Personal Defense Array is broken but potentially salvageable — Vael proved the belt can trap its wearer in a suffocating force field. It is currently a dangerous half-understood item rather than usable gear.

Inter-Session Discord (2026-W06, 2026-02-09 to 2026-02-15)

  • Magical theft confirmed over mundane burglary — Discussion around the Onyx/Tresti incident strongly pointed to invisible magical theft and bag transport rather than an ordinary break-in, reinforcing that the Settites used specialized methods.
  • Neferet planning centered on anti-teleport measures — Research before the assault clarified mummy traits and focused the party on how to keep Neferet from simply escaping.

Session 42a — Neferet

Tahsday, 13th Molivios 2994 AE | Real: ~2026-02-13

Open Threads

  • Neferet survives in undeath — The missing ruler was found as a greater mummy behind illusion defenses rather than as a simple corpse or tomb occupant.
  • Iron Circlet of Ghanor still not recovered — The long-sought circlet remains in Neferet’s zone or on her person, but the party did not secure it.
  • Secret meeting with Lukor’s Eighth Collegium — The wizard faction formally identified itself and still wants a private paid conversation with Weskenim.
  • Kerbog Khan offering blood-sealed contracts — The strange construct from the market remains an unresolved social and magical wildcard.
  • Second command bracelet map points to the Arena — Temrin completed the commissioned map, but the bracelet itself remains unrecovered.
  • Apartment and APC security still weak — Onyx explicitly wanted better protections, and the theft arc confirmed the party’s urban base remains vulnerable.

Session 42b — Neferet and the Wraiths

Tothsday, 20th Molivios 2994 AE | Real: ~2026-02-20

Open Threads

  • Neferet escaped into the Tower of Scrutiny — The party fought into her chambers but failed to finish her, and she withdrew upward to a still-dangerous zone.
  • Wraith cluster and construct in the tower hall — The undead concentration in the Tower of Scrutiny remains one of the clearest immediate combat threats left hanging.
  • Neferet’s chambers may still hold unsecured loot and evidence — The retreat left part of the tomb/tower complex only partially exploited.

Inter-Session Discord (2026-W07, 2026-02-16 to 2026-02-22)

  • Boots of Levitation changed movement options — The mummy loot produced a major mobility asset, which affects how aggressively the party can revisit tower, chasm, and cliff-access problems.
  • No consensus on whether Neferet or Set should be hit first — Post-session planning showed both threats remained live strategic priorities.

Sessions 43a–43c — Alpha Strike on the Cult of Set / Looting the Cult

Tothsday, 5th Molivios 2994 AE | Real: ~2026-02-27 to 2026-03-06

Open Threads

  • Residual Settite survivors and splinter resistance — The Forum was broken, but not every cultist was necessarily accounted for, and some had routes toward kaliyani territory.
  • North zombie room left sealed — The warning-note door to a zombie-filled room in the Forum complex was deliberately left unopened during the assault.
  • Suspicious deacon room marked “do not open” — One room with a deacon staring at the wall was left closed even during the final loot sweep.
  • Rough caverns north of the guard rooms remain unexplored — The party secured the Forum proper but did not fully push into every attached natural passage.
  • Varumani and frost giant diplomatic follow-up — The Varumani ambassadors and frost giants both came with questions after the cult collapsed, and neither relationship is fully settled.
  • Enemy-wall intelligence on Right for Riches — The cult kept displays naming the party, Grudge Brigade allies, and Susarra as enemies, implying broader surveillance and possibly surviving records elsewhere.

Inter-Session Discord (2026-W08 / 2026-W09, 2026-02-23 to 2026-03-08)

  • Freed slaves now need long-term placement and protection — Alexia’s writs solved the immediate legal problem, but the human aftermath of the Forum slave pits is larger than one rescue.
  • Stephania’s route to kaliyani territory remains relevant — Discord discussion reinforced that Set leadership had at least one secret path into kaliyani space.

Session 44 — Clearing the Goblin Forum

Tothsday, 12th Molivios 2994 AE | Real: ~2026-03-13

Open Threads

  • Arcane Vengeance’s platform near the Long Stair — The rival party has built or occupied a mysterious structure and will only talk for arcanum.
  • Arena route from the Forum now open — The stairs down connect cleanly into the Arena level, but much of that level still has to be understood.
  • Wraith in the spy tunnels — One trapped or lurking wraith remained alive in the peephole tunnels off the former Set zone.
  • Demon gate behind the amphibian statue — Scrying showed an area full of demons beyond the ancient gate, but nobody entered.
  • Arcanum geode room across the chasm — The valuable geode room is known and still mostly untouched because of the crossing problem.
  • Invisible book and the Set-language texts — Alexandros can help with some of the Set material, but the invisible book and other captured texts still need careful exploitation.
  • Magical ivory card decks from Stephania’s vault — The trap was disabled, but the actual function of the decks remains unknown.

Inter-Session Discord (2026-W10, 2026-03-09 to 2026-03-15)

  • Temporary food trade revived, but the Forum economy is still improvised — Dworm is acting as stopgap merchant, which stabilizes the site without fully normalizing it.

Session 45 — Purple Mist and the Drowned Canyon

Tahsday, 14th Molivios 2994 AE | Real: ~2026-03-20

Open Threads

  • Five Fingers of Destiny pressure around the Beacon — Their presence above the Beacon pushed the party into active fortification planning and remains unresolved politically.
  • More Chaotic Sweat and slime-pit routes below Thoth — The basin, the deep shaft, and the dissolution-slime area are still only partly exploited.
  • Broken egg-boat and second fish-shaped rod — The drowned-canyon boat and matching rod imply more to the water-travel / fish-device thread than a single loot find.
  • Dangerous waterspout pool — The violent pool was identified but not investigated.
  • Large obsidian doors in the crisis-station corridor — The party reached them but did not open them.
  • Green-view pool shows multiple still-unreached destinations — The surveillance / routing basin revealed the Arena, Sundered Span, floating garden, containment pods, pyramid, cavern, underwater site, and octagonal shaft, but most remain only images.
  • Unknown southern Rudishva room and deeper teleporter endpoints — Scrying located several destinations, yet only the cloister route was actually turned into a safe path.
  • Arcanum pocket storeroom guarded by warning voice — The “leave Thoth’s stuff alone” room remains a tempting but unresolved loot / trap problem.
  • Grinning head statue and dueling wizard platform — The lower cobbled cavern contains multiple unexplained set pieces that were documented but not solved.
  • Fishmen around the huge rock column — Contact was brief and inconclusive after their failed missile ambush.
  • Point Defense Array deployment plan — The recovered Rudishva turret system looks useful, especially against the dragon, but it still needs actual emplacement and doctrine.

Inter-Session Discord (2026-W11 / 2026-W12, 2026-03-16 to 2026-03-29)

  • Beacon anti-scry / anti-teleport fortification plan — The party began planning lead shielding, teleporter blocking, entrance sealing, and posted warnings rather than leaving Beacon security improvised.
  • Five Fingers diplomacy still pending — The current plan is to confront them with proof of Beacon ownership and push them off the area without a straight fight.
  • Apes’ monthly food delivery due again — The Well of Light apes remain an ongoing obligation rather than a one-off solved relationship.

Session 46 — The Arena Lord and the Inn of the Lost

Tahsday, 21st Molivios 2994 AE | Real: ~2026-04-03

Open Threads

  • Lead-lined shielding research for the Beacon and APC — Ioannes found a textual lead solution, but actual acquisition and installation remain to be done.
  • Second command bracelet still somewhere in the Arena zone — Temrin’s map points there, but the bracelet itself has not been recovered.
  • Arena Lord may be surviving Rudishva officer Crellik-Var — Akla-Chah and the crew roster strongly suggest the Arena Lord is Beacon entertainment officer Crellik-Var, raising major questions about loyalty, sanity, and possible negotiation.
  • Monster cages, fire-wall zone, and deeper Arena hazards — Bat scouting found additional dangerous areas around the Arena that the small party did not tackle.
  • Merchant row north passage marked “death” — The warning corridor beside the Inn of the Lost remains an untouched hazard.
  • Corpse pile, giant worm, and hidden chasm route — The northeast body pile and chasm approach produced only remote probing; the actual route remains unexplored.
  • Cave-in into Rudishva room with kaliyani statue — Beyond the cleared cave-in are iris doors north and west that the party deliberately left unopened.
  • Inn of the Lost as a neutral hub — The inn, merchants, lifts, and gamblers open a new social space that has not yet been leveraged for information or alliances.

Completed Items (continued)

  • Deino’s charmed beastmen recovered (Session 35 thread → Session 36): Ambrosia’s half-starved beastmen were lured out, dazed, and handed back to Count Skleros’s forces for de-charming.

  • King Weskenim accepted the Scepter and paid out (Session 36): Weskenim formally recognized the giant bone flute as the real Scepter of the Goblins and rewarded the party with a huge payout in coin.

  • Floating head command words found (Session 37): The party successfully woke and commanded the floating head in Upper Goblintown, confirming it can be activated and moved.

  • Secret Library of Thoth found (Session 37): The hidden room near the librarian’s quarters was finally opened, revealing a major cache of books, scrolls, and the Hellas-to-Neferet letter.

  • Rolf rescued from Set sacrifice (Session 38): The party interrupted the Temple of Set, freed the chained victim from the altar, and got him to safety in Gosterwick.

  • Yellow Rudishva identity plaque recovered (Session 39): Temrin’s map led the party through the bottom of the Great Chasm to the bastion room holding the yellow keycard.

  • Command Tablet of the Beacon recovered (Session 40): The item identified as the Beacon’s Command Tablet was recovered from the bastion and successfully recognized by the Beacon’s systems.

  • Green Rug recovered from the Settites (Session 41): After Tresti’s warning and Vael’s tracking magic, the party stealth-raided the Set level, recovered the stolen Rug, and looted the room where it had been hidden.

  • Neferet identified alive-as-undead (Session 42a): The supposed tomb mystery resolved into direct contact with Neferet herself, now a greater mummy concealed behind illusion defenses.

  • Forum of Set broken as a major hostile stronghold (Sessions 41–43c): The Right for Riches company smashed the Cult of Set’s main Forum base, killed or routed its leadership, and ended its open control of the Goblin Forum.

  • Slaves from the Forum of Set liberated (Session 43c): The party freed the pit slaves, secured Alexia’s legal writs, and got the wounded and displaced moved out under escort.

  • Gribble installed as Lord of the Goblin Forum (Session 43c / W08–W10): Weskenim accepted the Forum, placed Gribble in charge with guards, and started the transition away from Settite control.

  • Second command bracelet map completed (Session 42a → Session 44): Temrin finished the commissioned map, giving the party a concrete lead to the Arena level.

  • Varumani Passport finally recovered (Long-running thread → Session 45): The long-sought Rudishva plasteel credential with a varumani image was found in the crisis-station corridor.

  • Secure Beacon-to-Halls teleporter route established (Session 45): The party confirmed a practical internal route from the Beacon through Rudishva teleporters into the known Halls, reducing dependence on outdoor travel.

  • Arena Lord tentatively identified as Crellik-Var (Session 46): Akla-Chah’s roster review strongly suggests the Arena Lord is the Beacon’s former entertainment officer.

  • Inn of the Lost located (Session 46): The small-party Arena expedition found the inn, merchant row, and lift nexus, opening a major new social/exploration hub.

  • Sun/Moon/Star obelisks opened the Beacon stair (Sessions 1/7/30 → Session 31): Inserting the three silver ankhs into the three aligned obelisks before midday caused the hidden stair to the Beacon chamber to open on the island south of the Archon’s Palace.

  • Beacon contact established with Akla-Chah (Session 31): The party made first contact with the Rudishva morale-officer construct and learned the Beacon’s basic nature, keycards, and crash history.

  • Michael left the Right for Riches Company (Session 31): Michael formally separated from the company, took an agreed share of gear, and headed south toward home.

  • Nyema’s body recovered and buried (Session 25 thread → Session 33): Temrin’s map led the party to Nyema’s remains in the Temple of Set crocodile pool. The body was recovered and buried at Yrtol’s tower with her named torc.

  • Complete set of six teleportation squares assembled (Sessions 4–33): The final blue glass square found in the hidden barracks completed the full color set.

  • Bobo and Bifki rescued from Tikun Thane (Sessions 33–34c): The kidnapped baboons were recovered alive from the Tower of the Ape basement and released back toward the Howling Caves.

  • Uvash resurrected (Session 34c): Uvash became the first PC death of the campaign, then was raised at great expense by Jador and the clerics of Mitra and Demma in Gosterwick.

  • Tower of the Ape teleporter discovered (Sessions 34a–34b): The party identified Kel Bormol’s hidden teleporter in the ape-hunt caverns and used it to reach the Tower of the Ape.

  • Tikun Thane’s captive humans freed (Session 34c): Three human prisoners bought from Settite slavers were released from the Tower basement and brought back toward safety; Basil was hired by the party afterward.

  • Scepter of the Goblins recovered (Session 35): The magical giant bone flute identified by Seeker was pulled from its urn in the Great Cavern and brought out by the party.

  • Phlebotomas Plumthorn’s halfling regime broken (Sessions 2/8a/26): The party ambushed Plumthorn and Blandveg, killed or routed their forces, stripped the survivors, and ordered them out of Arden Vul. The United Goblins took over the territory.

  • Indoor pyramid control rod recovered and teleporter activated (Session 27 → Session 28): Vael’s Seeker located the control rod in the Hall of Judgment pit. The party retrieved it, installed it, and confirmed the indoor pyramids connect the Well of Light level and Goblintown.

  • Rugs of Instant Access proven practical for cliff travel (Sessions 27–29): The party confirmed the rugs work across at least ten miles and can bypass the Long Stair quickly, fundamentally changing travel logistics between Gosterwick and Arden Vul.

  • Trefko’s Dwarven Life-Stone acquired (Session 28 → Session 29): Vallium delivered the promised live goat, and Trefko traded over the life-stone named Schist Corundam.

  • Gwelf recovered and buried (Session 29 → Session 30): After previously learning Gwelf was dead, the party found his body, brought it out, and Uvash led members of his flock in giving him a proper burial.

  • Ptoh-Ristus’s tomb opened and looted (Session 27): The party bypassed the trap-heavy front route, defeated the guardian constructs and mummies, and carried off the major treasures from the tomb.

  • Theskelon’s tomb opened (Session 30): The party solved the Settite sun-orb mechanism, opened the inner sarcophagus, survived the fire trap, and recovered the key, books, maps, and signet ring from the tomb.

  • Versania / crazy woman rescued (Sessions 13–14): Convinced to leave the waterfall grotto with food and the promise of a birthday cake. Insanity cured by Jador at the Temple of Mitra after a large donation. She traded her Belt of Dwarvenkind for the rescue. Now volunteering at the House of the Gods.

  • Giant dire snapping turtle killed (Session 14): Vallium landed a fatal eye-stab while the turtle was stunned by Sister Valya’s Kiai. GOAT determined it was a magical dire creature, not a natural animal, so could not be resummoned.

  • Grotto floor fully searched (Session 14): A red glass square (teleporter key), magic shield, silver scroll case, magic shortsword (bear-skin wrapped), discus-thrower statue, two Arden tokens, coins, brooch, and ivory coffer recovered.

  • Four feral cats adopted (Sessions 11–12): Ioannes brought them home. The leader, Onyx, revealed himself as the familiar of a slain elven mage named Lyra. He wants to be re-homed with a female elven wizard who doesn’t go adventuring.

  • Both gem eyes for the Great Cavern statue found (Sessions 11 and 15): The silver eye (Session 11) and the blue eye (Session 15) are now both held by the party. The statue of the middle-aged man in the Great Cavern can presumably be restored.

  • Klisko rescued (Session 11): Sole survivor of a rival party massacred by the amber-eye fireball trap in the evil temple. Shown the secret door out. Now in Gosterwick and available as a lackey (confirmed W23 Discord).

  • Benevolent Brotherhood fence established (W21 Discord): Anonymous contact made through the Baliff’s Truncheon. Can sell contraband (like Cult of Set armor) for 40% without revealing party identity.

  • Altar with needle trap and hidden compartment resolved (Session 17 → Session 19): Vael figured out the non-magical trick and opened the compartment in Session 19. Inside: a bag of small red gems and a small magical silver feather token.

  • Stirge infestation cleared (Session 17 → Session 19): The stirges were driven off with fire; those that fled up the chimney were sealed in by Vael’s Shape Earth. Nest torn apart and looted: coins, magic incense, a small bronze baton, and an adventurer’s diary.

  • Samantha the Red, Tresti, and Jost rescued (Session 16): All three were freed from the Hall of Judgment after the scorpion teleporter deposited the party there. Jost revealed the illusory-wall entrance northwest of the Glory of Thoth as part of his gratitude.

  • Gwelf — fate confirmed (Session 16 → W30): Gwelf disappeared during the Session 16 rescue. A Seeker spell in W30 found his body — massive cutting wound across the torso, lying in an unrecognized dark underground cave. He is dead. His killer and the body’s exact location remain unknown.

  • Altar with needle trap opened (Session 17 → Session 19): Vael figured out the non-magical trick and opened the compartment. Inside: a bag of small red gems and a small magical silver feather token.

  • Stirge infestation cleared (Session 17 → Session 19): Stirges driven off with fire and chimney fused shut via Shape Earth. Nest looted: coins, magic incense, small bronze baton, and an adventurer’s diary.

  • Samantha the Red, Tresti, and Jost rescued (Session 16): Freed from the Hall of Judgment. Jost revealed the illusory-wall entrance NW of the Glory of Thoth as the party’s route in.

  • Stamelis moved to the Library of Thoth (Sessions 18 → 21): Vallium dragged the heavy enchanted bust back from Gerrilad’s mushroom room and installed it at the librarian’s station in the Library of Thoth.

  • Isocritis Half-Hand killed and Library cleared (Session 21): The wizard who had claimed the Library of Thoth was killed by a backstab from Vallium. His baboon zombies and logovore guardians were destroyed. The Library is now under party control.

  • Well of Light mirror replaced and Litany of Light performed (Session 22): Vallium carried the huge mirror onto the tripod at the Well’s bottom; Ioannes performed all four Litany rites. The party gained Infravision, Intelligence bonus, See Secrets, and Invisibility. Achievement: 1 XP for the milestone.

  • Anaximander rescued from the Oracle of Thoth (Session 22 → 23c): Pulled out of the marble chair; brought to Gosterwick. He was cured of his 250-year-induced insanity at the Temple of Mitra and is now dictating events from that era.

  • Lillian rescued (Sessions 23a/b/c): The missing canon of Mitra — sought since before Session 1 — was found captive in the Cult of Set’s jail and freed. Returned to the Temple of Mitra in Gosterwick. Capture route confirmed: Green Fang Kobolds → beastmen → Cult of Set.

  • Gribble rescued, Goblintown accessed (Session 23c): Goblin noble Gribble was freed alongside Lillian; led the party to Goblintown and secured an audience with King Weskenim.

  • Susarra rescued, then murdered (Sessions 23a → 22.5): Found hiding in the desecrated Thoth temple and freed during the Lillian rescue. Days later, she was decapitated in her bed at the Yellow Cloak Inn — a Cult of Set revenge killing.

  • Gem eyes installed in the Philosopher statue (Session 25): Both silver magic eyes placed into the Great Cavern statue’s sockets. The statue activated and cast a Great Healing over the area, but the party was uninjured so the effect was wasted. The eyes disappeared into the statue permanently.

  • Illusory wall entrance NW of Glory of Thoth now fully operational (Sessions 16 → 24): Confirmed by Jost in Session 16; used as the party’s primary route through the basement throughout Sessions 17-24.

  • Belt of Dwarvenkind obtained (Session 14): Acquired from Versania in exchange for her rescue. Grants Night Vision, extra FP, lifting ST, poison resistance, and a beard. The party is deciding whether to keep or sell it.
